GENERAL SUMMARY
The Marketing and Communications Manager is a strategic role responsible for the digital expression of AAEMโ€™s brand. This position leads the visual and editorial direction of AAEMโ€™s digital presence, ensuring a cohesive user experience that reflects organizational goals and values. It requires a strong balance of creative thinking and analytical insight to optimize content and design across digital platforms. The ideal candidate brings a student mindset, a collaborative approach, and a passion for measurable results.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Collaborates in a team environment to develop, implement, monitor, and refine campaigns, ensuring targeted messaging effectively reaches key audiences.
  • Maintains AAEMโ€™s websites as the primary resource for members and the broader emergency medicine communityโ€”including physicians, residents, and studentsโ€”by publishing timely content, ensuring accuracy, enhancing visual presentation, and continuously optimizing the user experience.
  • Manages AAEMโ€™s social media presence using a social media management platform to plan, create, and schedule content, track engagement, and support brand consistency, with a growing emphasis on paid strategy and ad campaign management.
  • Oversees podcast editing and post-production, ensuring high-quality audio, brand alignment, and adherence to industry best practices for distribution and audience engagement.
  • Analyzes digital campaign performance across various platforms such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, social media, etc.; uses data insights to inform strategic recommendations.
  • Stays current with emerging digital marketing technologies, best practices, and industry trends to identify innovative strategies that drive high-quality lead generation and audience growth.
  • Serve as staff liaison to committees, sections, and chapter divisions as assigned. This includes taking meeting minutes and distributing them to the committee chair, board liaison and committee members, and assisting with projects and tasks (including online webinars).
  • Build and manage AAEMโ€™s Scientific Assembly program website in content management software, ensuring it supports onsite logistics, provides members with essential session and event information, and seamlessly transitions into a mobile application experience.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • 1-3 years of experience in digital marketing, with a strong understanding of website optimization and best practices.
  • Proficiency in tracking and analyzing key performance metrics across digital platforms, with the ability to translate insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, with excellent proofreading and editing skills.
  • Advanced computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office, social media scheduling tools, graphic design software, and website content management systems (CMS).
  • Demonstrated interest in emerging technologies, including the application of AI tools to enhance marketing efficiency and creativity.
  • Highly organized and adept a managing multiple projects simultaneously, with proven ability to meet deadlines and adjust to shifting priorities.
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Frequent physical demands include: communication by seeing, talking, listening and writing; sitting; standing; walking; and using keyboard for word processing needs. Equipment typically utilized frequently includes computer, telephone, copier, fax, printer, and calculator.
BUSINESS NEEDS amp; TRAVEL REQUIRED:
Some early morning, evening, and weekend work may be required in our home office and while traveling out-of-town to meet client needs. Travel will be two to four weeks per year.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This is a full-time position located in our office in downtown Milwaukee, WI and a minimum of two days onsite in the office (including Wednesday as an all-staff-in-office day) are a requirement of the role.
