Job description

Sandis is hiring a Marketing Communications Coordinator to be part of our Marketing and Business Development team at our Oakland or Campbell Office. This role represents Sandis Companies at events and brings those moments to life through photography, social media, newsletters, and website content. You will attend business development functions, project milestones, and internal employee events, helping translate what you see and learn into engaging content for our audiences.

Primary Responsibilities:

       Events and Representation

  • Represent Sandis at internal employee engagement functions, business development events, industry conferences, and project milestones (groundbreakings, grand openings, ribbon cuttings).
  • Coordinate logistics and on-site support for Sandis-sponsored conferences and events, including materials preparation.
  • Comfortably speak to clients, partners, and staff on Sandis' behalf in these settings.
  • Photograph events and projects and manage the photo library for use across marketing channels.

       Content and Communications

  • Write social media posts, newsletters (staff and client), and web content ensuring a brand consistent presence and cadence.
  • Maintain a social media calendar
  • Update the Sandis websites and sections including blog posts, project updates, and people content.
  • Produce internal and external newsletters, digital and printed collateral, and internal marketing materials.
  • Develop graphics and brand assets to support communications pieces. 

       Marketing Operations

  • Support the planning and execution of marketing and outreach efforts, ensuring consistency with brand standards.
  • Manage timelines and production for assigned marketing materials, coordinating with internal teams and external vendors/partners.
  • Track and organize promotional materials, branded items, and related inventory.
  • Maintain marketing databases, contact lists, and track assets such as photography, swag, and marketing equipment.
  • Support marketing-related purchasing, vendor coordination, and prequalification/supplier management activities.
  • Partner with the marketing team on business development, prequalification, and proposal content and coordination.

What will help you be successful: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business Administration, Graphic Design, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of marketing, communications, or related experience, preferably within the AEC industry.
  • Experience with event/project photography, formal training preferred
  • Enthusiastic about building relationships with internal teams and external partners.
  • Ability to travel as needed and maintain a valid California driver's license.
  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging to different audiences.
  • Comfortable representing an organization in person; communicating with clients, partners and staff at events.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Lightroom, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), Canva, and other creative tools a plus.
  • Experience with website content management systems such as WordPress.
  • Familiarity with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact).
  • Working knowledge of SEO/SEM concepts and digital marketing strategies a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and web-based tools, including Google Ads or similar platforms.
