Job description

Amazon Ads Marketing is building an AI-native team to drive the transformation of the marketing organization to integrate AI into our marketing production process with precision and scale. As a Design Technologist on this team, you will drive the intersection of Agentic AI development, UX design, and marketing operations. You will own the user workflow design, technical delivery, platform operations, and program execution of agentic AI and marketing automation initiatives across our omnichannel production workflows.

This role will prototype AI-driven automation experiences, build functional integrations between workflow management systems, agentic AI tooling, and 3P platforms to enable our marketing team to scale communications production across email, portal notifications, and website channels with greater speed, quality, and efficiency.
You will serve as the technical and UX bridge between marketing stakeholders and AI engineering teams, turning ambiguous automation concepts into tangible, interactive experiences that teams can evaluate, test with users, and use to move automation projects forward. This role requires hands-on technical execution and technical leadership, you'll implement AI technologies, provide technical integration support, create reusable prototyping frameworks, and develop reference implementations that raise the bar for how the team builds and delivers AI-powered solutions.

You will design, execute, and troubleshoot AI-driven solutions, set prototyping standards for the team, and influence UX and technical approaches across adjacent teams to drive operational efficiency at scale.
This is a high-impact, high-visibility role. The ideal candidate brings strong prototyping skills, experience with the UX/UI behind marketing workflows, deep comfort working across web technologies and emerging AI platforms, and the ability to creatively solve difficult business and technology constraints.

You will also cross-share learnings with global teams to drive best practices and insights.
Key job responsibilities
- Design and implement agentic AI workflows for channel production automation using Amazon AI tools and external platforms
- Transform UX and workflow concepts into working code (Python, JavaScript, Node, AWS, API integrations). Prototype and validate agentic use cases from concept to pilot, contributing directly to productivity goals.
- Work backward from the customer experience; collaborate with product, design, and engineering to iterate on optimal experiences and identify UX/workflow issues before dev/test when fixes are less costly
- Evaluate 1P and 3P AI tools for integration with core marketing systems, accounting for real-world constraints

Develop reusable prototyping methods, agent frameworks, and reference implementations
- Provide hands-on technical integration support, debugging workflows and implementing solutions to unblock team initiatives
- Define and optimize performance metrics for AI-driven workflows, measuring impact on conversion, retention, and operational efficiency
- Share frameworks, patterns, and learnings with global marketing teams to scale AI automation best practices
