Job Summary
Visit Palatka is seeking a creative and digitally savvy Marketing & Advertising Coordinator to promote Palatka as a destination for visitors and strengthen the Visit Palatka brand. This position will manage digital marketing, social media, content creation, website updates, advertising, and performance tracking across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Canva, and Google Analytics. The ideal candidate is a hands-on marketing professional who can turn creative ideas into engaging content and measurable campaigns while staying current with digital marketing trends and emerging technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Digital Marketing, Advertising & Analytics
  • Develop and manage integrated marketing and advertising campaigns that increase Visit Palatka awareness, drive visitation, and promote tourism, experiences, events, and community initiatives.
  • Create and monitor targeted digital advertising campaigns across social media, Google, and other relevant platforms while managing budgets, audiences, creative assets, schedules, and performance.
  • Track key performance indicators, prepare regular reports, and use data and audience insights to identify trends, improve results, and maximize return on investment.
  • Collaborate with local businesses, tourism partners, attractions, and community organizations to expand promotional reach and strengthen destination marketing efforts.

Social Media & Content Development
  • Manage and grow Visit Palatka's social media presence across all social platforms.
  • Develop and maintain a content calendar aligned with tourism goals, campaigns, and events.
  • Create, capture, edit, schedule, and publish engaging photo, videos, graphic, and written content, including posts, Reels, Stories, advertisements, newsletters, and promotional materials.
  • Use Canva and other creative tools to develop branded graphics, flyers, presentations, digital promotions, and other marketing materials.
  • Develop engaging captions, website copy, promotional messaging, and destination storytelling while maintaining Visit Palatka's brand, voice, visual identity, and tourism messaging.
  • Monitor and respond to comments, messages, trends, and community conversations while identifying opportunities for user-generated content, influencer partnerships, cross-promotion, and increased engagement.
  • Stay current on social media trends, platform updates, and emerging content opportunities to increase reach and audience engagement.

Website, SEO & Digital Visitor Experience
  • Maintain and update Visit Palatka's website with current attractions, businesses, experiences, events, blog content, images, and promotional information.
  • Create and publish website content that improves visitor engagement, visibility, SEO, and destination awareness.

Community & Tourism Development
  • Identify, build, and maintain new opportunities to promote Palatka through digital marketing, partnerships, public relations, events, and destination storytelling.
  • Attend community meetings, networking opportunities, tourism functions, and promotional activities to increase Visit Palatka's visibility and strengthen community connections.
  • Assist with tourism-related inquiries and connect visitors with local services, attractions, businesses, and experiences.

Qualifications & Preferred Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Tourism, Public Relations, Digital Media, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Preferred 2 years of experience in marketing, advertising, social media, communications, tourism, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of Palatka, Putnam County, Northeast Florida, local businesses, attractions, and tourism is a plus.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for marketing campaigns, community activities, events, and special projects.
