Job description

THIS JOB DESCRIPTION DOES NOT ATTEMPT TO LIST ALL OF THE DUTIES THAT ARE OR MAY BE PERFORMED IN THIS POSITION

This position will be responsible for covering MidTex territories including Bryan/College Station, Temple, and Waco. The successful candidate may office out of any these service centers depending on office availability.


Primary Duties
1. Leads the process to connect and serve large and high profile new residential / commercial development opportunities, with responsibility for:
reviewing new development plats, working closely with operations to determine gas infrastructure design, estimated costs and projected growth;
preparing feasibility studies on growth development opportunities;
developing proposal terms;
negotiating and securing beneficial growth opportunities with large developers;
preparing and executing contracts as necessary; and
serving as liaison during infrastructure construction.
2. Acts as the primary Company contact for the division's large and complex builders and/or developers. Regularly communicates with high profile stakeholders and records these interactions in the system of record.
3. Promotes the company's programs and services and advocates for natural gas usage to both internal and external stakeholders in an effort to influence natural gas buying decisions and promote natural gas for environmental, sustainable solutions.
4. Builds and manages relationships with channel partners, such as gas appliance dealers, plumbers, and HVAC dealers. Develops a strong gas dealer network in assigned work area. Promotes the company's programs and services in an effort to influence natural gas buying decisions.
5. Develops and leads business development programs to maximize customer retention, stakeholder engagement and grow market share. Pursue on main conversion and short main extension customer growth opportunities.
6. Leads division's Energy Efficiency program (where applicable) providing support to third-party administrator of the program for residential and commercial customers to take advantage of rebates offered.
7. Tracks building permit and new construction activity in assigned areas. Attends Planning and Zoning meetings to stay abreast of all residential and commercial development activity.
8. Utilizes market analytics to gage success and identify future market opportunities and key growth corridors and incorporates into capital budget planning process. Develops and presents plans to management, communicating market results and recommendations to increase market share.
9. Manages assigned commercial accounts with multiple locations and larger revenues to assure services delivered meet customer expectations. May oversee a portion of the division's industrial customers.
10. Provides direction to work group and guides employee teams to achieve project expectations. May serve as a mentor to other employees. Functions as a subject matter expert for the division's residential and commercial business.
11. Actively participates in industry related meetings and conferences (i.e. local HBA's, state associations, ESC, SGA, etc.), presents important industry related information as appropriate. May sponsor events to highlight the company's programs and services.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Educational/Experience Level:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing or a related field and four years related experience; or equivalent.
Valid driver's license required.
Communication Skills:
Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers/stakeholders in order to obtain and/or provide explanations and/or modifications on technical, environmental or other complex concepts to individuals with little or no background in the area under discussion and proactively advocate for continued/increased usage of natural gas.
Numeric Skills:
Requires the ability to perform analysis involving financial investments, ratios, percentages and statistical methods.
Computer Skills:
Requires working knowledge of various software applications to create documents, spreadsheets, financial analysis, reports
and/or graphics.
Work Conditions:
Works in indoor and outdoor environments.
Requires occasionally performing activities including, but not limited to, bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting,
turning and/or lifting.
Requires attendance at after-hours events, occasional travel, and availability outside of business hours to respond to customer/business needs as needed.
