Here, you will work on meaningful, high-impact initiatives alongside cross-functional teams - driving growth, shaping strategy, and translating scientific insight into commercial success.

This role focuses on shaping demand, defining high-value use cases, and strengthening Leica's scientific credibility in Biopharma, while partnering closely with cross-functional teams to improve how opportunities are identified, positioned, and advanced.

This position reports to the Director of Market Development and is part of the North America Life Science Research commercial team, working remotely across the United States and Canada.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Serve as a scientific and market thought partner to biopharma customers, engaging senior stakeholders to understand workflows, challenges, and emerging trends across discovery and translational research

  • Define and lead Biopharma market development strategy, translating complex scientific applications into clear, scalable use cases aligned to customer needs

  • Drive early-stage opportunity shaping by aligning stakeholders, clarifying workflows, and positioning differentiated solutions that resonate with scientific and operational priorities

  • Build and scale repeatable, high-value workflows and use cases that can be deployed across accounts to accelerate adoption and growth

  • Act as the voice of the customer, capturing and synthesizing insights from scientific stakeholders to influence commercial strategy, portfolio alignment, and market positioning

The essential requirements of the job include

  • PhD or advanced degree in life sciences (e.g., cell biology, molecular biology, immunology, oncology, or related field) with strong understanding of biopharma R&D workflows

  • Experience in a biopharma, biotech, or translational research environment, with the ability to engage credibly with senior scientific stakeholders

  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex scientific concepts into practical applications or strategies that drive adoption or decision-making

  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with experience working across multidisciplinary teams (scientific and commercial)

  • Analytical and strategic mindset, with the ability to assess opportunities, define use cases, and contribute to structured pipeline development

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

  • Ability to travel overnight 30-40%, within territory and to support tradeshows as needed

  • Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Spatial biology, advanced imaging, or cell-based assay workflows

  • Translational research, biomarker development, or early drug discovery environments

  • Customer-facing roles (e.g., field applications, scientific support, consulting, or technical sales)

  • Driving adoption of new technologies or workflows across research organizations
