The Equipment Operator II performs comprehensive golf course maintenance and operates both basic and specialized equipment. This role builds on foundational skills and includes responsibility for more technical course systems and advanced turf care while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in golf course maintenance or a similar role
  • Education in turfgrass management, or related field, preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance facility and work areas
  • Clean, inspect, and monitor equipment condition; report deficiencies or safety concerns to the Equipment Manager
  • Perform daily golf course maintenance as directed by the Director of Golf Course Maintenance Operations and/or Assistant Superintendents
  • Complete task-specific training prior to independent operation of equipment
  • Operate basic and specialized equipment and perform groundskeeping tasks, including:
    • Line trimming trees, shrubs, and course features
    • Edging cart paths, sprinkler heads, and bunkers
    • Ball mark repair and divot filling
    • Sod installation and turf repair
    • Utility vehicle operation
    • Walk-behind mower operation on greens, tees, and approaches
    • Blower operation
    • Hand raking bunkers and general hand tool use
    • Triplex mowing of tees, approaches, and fairways
    • Mechanical bunker raking
    • Drainage installation and basic repair
  • Follow PPE requirements and established safety standards at all times
  • Support special projects and perform additional duties as assigned
