Job Summary:
The Flexo Press Support is responsible for assisting the Operators in setting up and operating a Mark Andy Flexo printing machine to produce print on label rolls, cleanup and general support for the Flexo Press Operator as needed or outlined by a supervisor. Should be able to handle basic press functions and load materials onto press. This individual will also be responsible for setting up and operating the Rotoflex Rewinder to rewind, inspect, and finish labels per work instructions as needed or outlined by a supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret job tickets to determine and gather necessary setup components including inks, dies, plates, cylinders, etc.
  • Hang plates, Load cylinders, adjust pressure rolls, or otherwise adjust machines to improve print quality, using knobs, hand wheels, or hand tools.
  • Pour or spread ink, color compounds, and varnish in printing units, making measurements and adjustments to control color and viscosity.
  • Set and adjust speed, temperature, ink flow, positions, and pressure tolerances of equipment.
  • Monitor machine during operation to identify any issues or malfunctions.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and efficiently, including machine documentation.
  • Clean and lubricate printing machines and components, using oil, solvents, brushes, rags, and hoses.
  • Adhere to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), ISO standards, and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP's) to ensure product quality and safety.
  • Perform consistent quality inspection checks, ensuring finished products are free of defects and compliant with quality standards.
  • Keeps work areas clear and organized; maintains housekeeping standards.
  • Package finished products according to customer specifications.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of one year of rewinder experience required, Rotoflex rewinder experience preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a commercial print or packaging environment.
  • Knowledge of, and experience working with Mark Andy Flexo P5 or P7 strongly preferred.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude required.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to lift/move up to 50 pounds with or without mechanical assistance.
  • Regularly exposed to noise, dust, odors, and oils.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and guidelines related to operating machinery.
