Familiarity with tools like SIEM platforms, network intrusion detection systems, and certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or maritime-specific credentials like the BIMCO Cyber Security Awareness Certificate are highly beneficial. Strong analytical thinking, effective communication, and the ability to educate and coordinate with non-technical maritime personnel are valuable soft skills in this field. These competencies are crucial for safeguarding maritime assets against evolving cyber threats while ensuring safe operations across vessels and shore-based infrastructure.
