Job description

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a Journeyman Marine Propulsion Engineer with 3 years of experience and BS in Engineer. This position provides comprehensive lifecycle engineering support to the USCG Surface Forces Logistics Center. Be part of a team that focuses on upgrading and sustaining cutters and boats to ensure continued operational effectiveness, safety, and compliance with current and future mission requirements. Responsibilities As a Journeyman Marine Propulsion Engineer you will have the opportunity to do the following: * Assist in design, development, and evaluation of the operation of marine vessels, ship machinery, and related equipment, such as propulsion systems & power generation systems.
* Support the US Coast Guard reviewing third party design modifications and improvements to mechanical systems and components.
* Perform design reviews, evaluating constructability, helping resolve technical issues, and managing information generated through the design and construction phases.
* Conduct analyses of propulsion systems and types, lead development of technical data packages and reviews. * Conduct trade studies regarding ship configuration.
* Conduct marine engineering analysis.
* Create graphical representations of structures and systems.
* Inspect equipment or systems.
* Assist in research of advanced engineering designs or applications.
* Prepare technical reports for internal use.
#LI-EW1 Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in engineering
* Ability to obtain a secret clearance
* At least 3+ years of experience in marine specific fields (i.e. propulsion systems, power-generation systems, fluids and hydraulics)
