Job description

The Gig:
Under the oversight of the Vice President Technical Operations and New Build, responsible for overseeing and managing all procurement and logistics activities for spares and services required for Marine & Technical Operations.
This gig is based at VVHQ - our swanky Virgin Voyages Head Office in Plantation, FL where we follow a hybrid work environment. We can't wait to 'sea' you in person during our Collaboration Days, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, while you enjoy Mondays and Fridays' as remote days.
What You'll Be Up To:
  • Develop and communicate a procurement business plan. Implement long-term goals for the department in order to promote effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Develop and implement marine logistics strategies to meet business objectives, ensuring cost-effective, timely, and reliable transportation of goods.
  • Oversee and manage day to day logistics operations for trucking, ocean freight and air freight.
  • Create and implement all procurement and logistics strategies for capital projects and dry dock executions.
  • Attend dry and/or wet dock periods as the SPOC and person responsible for all procurement and logistics for the project.
  • Support global strategy and execution of fuel oil procurement, including deliveries in cooperation with our fuel oil procurement manager.
  • Create processes and implement systems in collaboration with logistics providers and the Finance and Accounting Team to ensuring suppliers are paid as per agreed purchasing payment terms
  • Maintain overview of orders placed vs ship-shore budget and advise leadership
  • Tracking and reporting key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
  • Process purchase orders; develop bids and proposals; and reconcile any invoice discrepancies as needed
  • Lead the contract development and administration ensuring optimum cost efficiencies and new business initiatives
  • Manage current procurement policies, procedures and programs with a focus on their ability to enhance organizational value and efficiency; meet regularly with respective departments regarding procurement for their understanding and/or recommendations to enhance policies, procedures and develop, communicate and implement new/revised policies, procedures and programs as needed.
  • Serve as the primary contact for procurement related questions, training, policy and procedure interpretation and alignment by all departments.
  • Maintain and manage supplier performance and partnership.
  • Liaise with Logistics partners to ensure delivery dates are updated in the ERP
  • Oversee global warehousing operations.
  • Develop, communicate and administer procurement team performance and development plans and appraisals.
  • All other duties assigned

Super Powers Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics or related
  • Proven purchasing experience with problem solving skills (preferably cruise)
  • Proven Marine and Technical logistics management experience.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office, AMOS
  • Highly Experienced with ERP systems or databases
  • Project management experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management
