$20,000 Commitment Bonus (2 years)

Schedule: Full Time Days 8a - 4:30p No weekends and No Holidays

Summary:

The registered nurse provides direct patient care to Oncology patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.

Report to: Director of Oncology

How You'll Contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

  • Performs critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Deliver compassionate, high-quality care across a variety of patient needs
  • Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
  • Ability to accept responsibility and accountability to prescribe, delegate and coordinate nursing care provided on assigned unit as required with leadership qualities.
  • Documents patient care and monitors patient condition, communicating with care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Detects change in patient status, reports to appropriate health care team members and utilizes resources as dictated by the acuity. Assigns priorities to the patient's problems with highest priority given to problems that are most urgent and critical.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation
  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and /or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition and circumstances.
  • Insures completion of requests for diagnostic work and support services.
  • Counts narcotics according to policy and procedure.

What we're looking for

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina (or compact license)
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) from an accredited nursing program; bachelor's degree Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (required)
  • ACLS (required)
  • Chemotherapy/Biotherapy (required)
