Job description

Description:

· Perform duties to supply dies and die components, in good operational condition, to foundry in accordance with production needs.

· Prepare die “kits” consisting of dies, covers, bolts, etc. in accordance with job routing and die safety standards, based on scheduled foundry production needs. Remove dies and related components from storage maintaining proper records as to inventory and die movement. Maintain Die Services storage and holding areas in orderly condition.

· Inspect dies and related equipment for dimensional and general condition. Record findings and recommend repairs. Assist in shot blasting and die repair duties.

· Move and deliver dies and die kits to foundries using various forklift trucks and lifting equipment.

· Inspect, clean and spray dies with protective coating upon return from foundry. Return dies to storage, updating inventory records.

· Assist and instruct new employees.

Requirements:

· Strong knowledge of WC foundry practices and equipment including dies and die setup.

· Knowledge of MAPICS system for looking up and recording information.

· Must be familiar with forklifts and other material handling equipment including cranes and hoists. Current forklift certification preferred.

· Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

· Experience with shot blasting and welding helpful.

· Must be able to work with minimal supervision and successfully interact in a team environment.
