Job description

Position: Accounts Payable Associate 

Location: Chesapeake, Virginia (In-Office)

Pay: $24-26 per hour

Job Type: Full-Time

Map Communications, Inc. is seeking an Accounts Payable Associate to join our team in Chesapeake. This is an in-office position where you will have a direct impact on our team's financial reporting. You will work closely with our Accounting and management teams.

What You Will Do:

As an Accounts Payable Associate, your duties will include:

  • Receive and evaluate vendor invoices
  • Seek invoice approvals from appropriate responsible parties
  • Ensure vendor invoices are coded to the proper general ledger accounts
  • Enter invoices in the ERP system
  • Pay the invoices weekly
  • Prepare related excel schedules for management
  • Limited filing
  • Special projects as needed

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: 1 year experience in Accounts Payable or general office environment preferred
  • Education: College degree a plus, but not required
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Attention to Detail: A high level of accuracy and a strong numerical aptitude.
  • Communication skills: Good verbal and written communication
