Description
POSITION DESCRIPTION: The role of the Assistant Clean-Up Manager is to help the Clean-Up Manager in ensuring that the grader and processing areas in the plant are thoroughly clean and sanitized each evening according to Rose Acre and USDA standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Assist Clean-Up Manager in directing and training the crew in the daily operation of the sanitation checklist.
  • He or she will help allocate crewmembers and man-hours to particular locations on the processing floor as needed.
  • Report any improper cleaning methods to his or her crewmembers the first time an incorrect procedure is observed.
  • Communicate crew performance to both the grader and complex managers.
  • Help the Clean-Up Manager look for potential cleanliness problems that might interfere with productive efficiency during the next day's run.
  • Assist the crew in daily cleaning duties, and also with cleaning the candling booth areas, pans and buckets around the area, and all floors in the processing area.
  • Monitor usage of supplies and manage the inventory of supplies by placing orders as needed. This inventory management may include items not used by the clean-up crew as determined by the complex manager.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
  • High school education is desired - experience in the egg processing area is highly desired.
  • Must be reliable and extremely punctual.
  • Must be able to work evening or 2nd shift hours.
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions regarding instructions in the daily procedures of the egg grader.
  • Must be physically capable of performing essential functions of the job on a routine basis.
  • Must be capable of quickly addressing issues and responding to emergency situations in a timely and consistent manner.
  • Must possess good communication skills and a working knowledge of the English language.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Capable of working late (if needed) past the scheduled leave time to complete the job.
  • Capable of working weekend shifts and maintaining a flexible schedule to help the other departments should they need assistance on a particular day.) Note: This may include working holidays to ensure that the job is covered)
  • Possess excellent teamwork skills - as with many jobs this position required a "team" attitude, and requires that all plant personnel work together to ensure that the job is completed.
  • Must be able to deal with conditions that exist in an egg processing facility, such as some humidity in the summer, odor from eggs and chickens, and the existence of manure, rotten eggs, flies, and mice.
  • Must be conform and abide by ALL Rose Acre bio-security policies, and must report any violation of this policy to upper management immediately.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Must possess the ability to work in an agricultural environment, indoors, outdoors, office, warehouse, processing, and farm production areas each varying in temperature, and other environment specific atmospheres.
  • Must be willing and able to work past the scheduled leave time to complete the job, if needed.
  • Must possess the ability to work in an open office setting.
  • Must maintain professionalism with coworkers.
