Description
Position Description: The Environmental Services Skid Steer Operator helps ensure that all waste from the layer and pullet houses is removed in a timely and efficient manner.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Responsible for manure removal from the houses
  • Capable of learning how to properly operate and maintain forklifts, skid loaders, crawler loaders, and other equipment in a safe and efficient manner
  • Responsible for the maintenance and cleaning of haul-out equipment and trucks
  • Responsible for keeping accurate paperwork of daily removal amounts/locations shipped to, etc.
  • Responsible for assisting in the general maintenance of the houses
  • Any other duties assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
  • High school diploma is preferred - basic communication and math skills are highly desired.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license
  • Capable of performing job functions related to waste removal - including moving and operating equipment, cleaning areas etc
  • Capable of working in an environment that may require physical exertion- due to heat, cold, wind, etc. (Position will require work both inside layer/pullet houses and outside.)
  • Capable of learning how to properly operate and maintain forklifts, skid loaders, crawler loaders, and other equipment.
  • Capable of cleaning out equipment at the end of the day - basic sanitation of equipment, trucks, tools, etc.
  • Capable of filling out basic paperwork (hauling statements, tonnage, bill of lading reports).
  • Capable of working a flexible schedule - including some weekend work, overtime work, and occasional holidays.
  • Capable of lifting items weighing 50 lbs or more.
  • Ability to understand, read, write and speak basic English.
  • Willing to comply with all Rose Acre's employment policies.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Must possess the ability to work in an agricultural environment, indoors, outdoors, office, warehouse, processing, and farm production areas each varying in temperature, and other environment specific atmospheres.
  • Must be willing and able to work past the scheduled leave time to complete the job, if needed.
  • Must possess the ability to work in an open office setting.
  • Must maintain professionalism with coworkers.
