Job description


How will you make an impact?
You will make an impact at Green Cover by helping us deliver products and hauling resources. You will deliver goods while operating a tractor-trailer truck, sometimes over intercity routes or spanning several states. Load and unload cargo. Record amount and type of cargo being delivered. This position is paid by the hour. We are a seasonal company and will have more or fewer hours depending on the season. This will include seed product deliveries in our peak times and local grain, rock, and manure hauling in the off-season.
What winning looks like:
  • Transport finished goods and raw materials over land to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centers
  • Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
  • Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
  • Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts (trip reports).
  • Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
  • Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
  • Collect and verify delivery instructions
  • Report defects, accidents, or violations
  • Load and unload trucks
  • All other duties as assigned

Working conditions
Ride in a seat for long periods of time. Loading or unloading product in all weather conditions.
Requirements
  • U.S. Citizen or authorized worker
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Able to Lift 50lbs
  • Must have a valid class A Commercial Drivers License
  • Clean driving record
  • Medical Card
  • Attention to detail
  • Self Starter who takes initiative
