Job description

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Role

We have an opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Calgary, Alberta. In this role, you will work closely with our manufacturing and design teams as well as our suppliers to improve current manufacturing processes and equipment while developing new methods to manufacture our industry-leading Direct Contact Liquid Cooling (DCLCTM) products for Enterprise/OEM server-based cooling applications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and improve manufacturing processes to reduce labor costs and maintain quality, safety, and ergonomics.
  • Provide production-level tools and fixtures to improve productivity and safety, and maintain these tools and equipment to enhance the quality, throughput, and reliability of processes.
  • Support the maintenance and performance of all manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Lead troubleshooting of production and quality problems, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Provide support to production, quality, and order management teams to meet production objectives.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation (process flows, work instructions, and procedures) to standardize work and enhance quality.
  • Analyze production data, identify areas for improvement, and implement changes to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and minimize downtime.
  • Develop and lead Process FMEAs and PPAPs for existing and new equipment, products, and processes.
  • Support DFMEA reviews and facilitate feedback to the design team.
  • Assess and implement new assembly jigs, test fixtures, and technology/equipment.
  • Coordinate/facilitate new product introduction and engineering change management activities for production.
  • Develop and implement product packaging and labeling for traceability.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of industry best practices, trends, and technologies to continually drive innovation and process improvement in CoolIT's manufacturing facilities.
  • Responsible for designing, developing, and validating mechanical systems and components for machines to meet performance, safety, and cost requirements.
  • Responsible for creating detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using CAD tools to support fabrication and assembly of designed machines

WHO YOU ARE

Basic Qualifications

  • Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, Electro/Mechanical Technology, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 5+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 3 years of previous machine design experience.
  • Proven track record for completing manufacturing process development projects in electrical assembly.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, MES and PLM software, and ERP frameworks.
  • Experience developing manufacturing processes and associated documentation.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis, 5S, Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and production methods.
  • Knowledge of BOM and routings and Engineering Change Management.
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a manual to a semi-automated production setting.
  • Experience with server and server-related technologies.

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills at all levels of the organization and with internal customers.
  • Expert proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, SolidWorksSimulationor equivalent CAD software.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent teamwork in cross-functional settings.
