Where You'll Make a Difference
  • Lead the Manufacturing Technology function for chemical and biochemical liquid processing at a large-scale industrial biotechnology manufacturing site, providing technical leadership, project oversight and team development.
  • Serve as the site technical authority for liquid process engineering, including mixing, dosing, reaction systems, fermentation, downstream processing, purification, transfer systems, formulation and cleaning-in-place systems.
  • Lead new product introduction, process scale-up and commercialization activities, translating laboratory and pilot-scale processes into reliable commercial manufacturing operations.
  • Partner with Process Research and Development teams to implement new technologies, process improvements and manufacturing innovations.
  • Provide technical leadership for process design, troubleshooting, root cause analysis and process hazard evaluations within operating manufacturing environments.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on yield, throughput, safety, reliability, quality and cost optimization across liquid manufacturing operations.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Capital Projects, Automation and Quality teams to design, justify and implement liquid processing solutions aligned with long-term manufacturing objectives.
  • Develop and execute Manufacturing Technology priorities that strengthen process capability, commercialization readiness and operational robustness.
  • Support strategic planning and technology roadmaps that enable sustainable growth across Health & Biosciences manufacturing operations.

What Makes You the Right Fit
  • Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
  • Eight or more years of engineering experience supporting chemical or biochemical liquid processing within an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Experience leading process development, process scale-up and commercialization projects from pilot operations through full-scale manufacturing.
  • Technical expertise in liquid unit operations, including reaction systems, mixing, fermentation, purification, transfer systems and formulation processes.
  • Experience leading engineering teams, technical specialists or complex technical programs within manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across Research and Development, Operations, Capital Projects, Automation, Quality and Environment, Health and Safety functions.
  • Experience applying root cause analysis, process optimization and problem-solving methodologies to manufacturing challenges.
  • Strong project management, prioritization and decision-making skills in fast-paced manufacturing environments.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to explain complex process technologies to operators, engineers and senior leaders.

This position is specifically aligned with chemical and biochemical liquid processing environments and is not intended for candidates whose experience is primarily focused on discrete manufacturing, assembly operations or component manufacturing.
