Job Summary
The Manufacturing Project Manager is responsible for leading and managing continuous improvement based initiatives in support of enterprise manufacturing processes. This role focuses on optimizing processes, increasing efficiency, reducing waste, and enhancing overall operational performance using various improvement methodologies. The Manufacturing Project Manager collaborates with cross-functional teams to drive a culture of continuous improvement and ensure the successful execution of scoped projects.
Responsibilities
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvements through data analysis, value stream mapping, and employee engagement.
  • Establishes project budgets inclusive of expenses (capital investments, material cost, labor, software, etc.) with formal benefit analysis. Maintains accurate budgetary records throughout entirety of specific project.
  • Develops, manages, and maintains up-to-date project timelines for project team, inclusive of all critical milestones and resource allocations while applying appropriate project scheduling.
  • Leads a multi-level team, providing guidance and leadership to team members. Encourages team development, resolves conflicts, advocates and supports team with resources.
  • Establishes and executes data collection plans in support of root cause analysis.
  • Monitors and documents project progress with formal updates to project sponsor and key stakeholders at set frequency.
  • Understands and identifies issues, develops strategies, creates and manages the implementation of plans.
  • Possesses the ability to anticipate future needs and identify future options and constraints, critically evaluate information, anticipate and understand the implications of decisions and actions on people, organizational components, shareholders and customers.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks based on business needs.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • PMP Certification a plus.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, and project management software (SmartSheet, Microsoft Project, Asana, etc.).
  • Knowledge of plastics industry preferred.
  • Effective research, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to successfully work in a team environment and independently.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, statistical tools, and process improvement software.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other CI methodologies (Green Belt certification preferred).
