Job Description
Primary Function of Position:
This Senior Project Manager will be accountable for the management of both Software or Digital Programs & Projects. Having worked as a Project Manager on software application in a regulatory environment is a must. Having worked as a Project Manager on software application with in a Medical Device (MD or Med Device) company would be a big plus. So You will be aligning engineering, clinical, and regulatory schedules, ensuring that the right products are created and delivered at the time of market introduction to ensure the success of the platform. Your influence will be critical to ensure excellent cross-functional communication and coordination, and you will play a key role in the prioritization and development of new technologies for the platform.
The position requires experience in medical technology products and be able to combine that experience with a knowledge of bringing projects through a development cycle and delivering them on-time and on-budget. The role requires an understanding of product development and manufacturing, project management, and most importantly managing through influence.
Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Effectively manage cross-functional development teams across the Business Unit and Shared Services, providing oversight on critical projects, and ensuring the teams deliver against their commitments within the project contract.
  • Manages the project plan by identifying critical path, constraints, contingencies and mitigations to achieve project objectives. Escalates threats to project plan as required to functional management and senior leadership
  • Ongoing collaboration with the cross-functional teams to update weekly / monthly / quarterly reports on project status and ensure that cross-product dependencies are understood, planned for, and crisply executed
  • Perform risk analysis, develop contingency plans, and gather data from functions to proactively raise prioritization and scheduling tradeoff decisions
  • Provides regular updates in form of status updates and stage gate review presentations with highlighting risks and mitigation plans to senior management
  • Works across the organization and external partners (as needed) to align functional support and input for the project
  • Ensures Project management processes are followed per relevant procedures by functional team members.
  • Contributes to Project management process optimization and strategies via lessons learned, resource leveling, process input and sharing and developing best practices

Qualifications
Skill/Job Requirements
  • Four-year degree (Bachelor's degree or global equivalent). MS/MA/MBA is a plus.
  • 8 + years with a bachelor's degree or 6 years with a masters degree.
  • This must include hands-on experience with development and commercialization of highly technical regulated software (SW) application.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office; proficient knowledge of program/project management software (e.g. MS Project, Smartsheet, JIRA, collaboration tools).
  • Strong project management, planning, decision making, negotiating and change management skills
    • Comfortable with all phases of the project and product lifecycle including idea generation, concept, design, development, V&V testing and manufacturing transfer
    • Experience in analyzing tradeoffs between product features, customer needs/requirements and cost
    • Demonstrated ability to synthesize data, set actionable goals and drive metrics and execution
    • Experience with Business Process Management
    • Experience with schedule, budget, cost and risk management tracking tools

  • Understanding of Design Controls under US and International Regulations.
  • Experience in managing and mentoring junior staff and consultant resources desired

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, benefits, and equity. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications.
