About the Role
Essity Manufacturing Professional Hygiene is currently seeking a Project Engineer for our paper mill in Menasha, WI. In this role, you will report directly to the Engineering Manager and take ownership of a wide variety of capital projects across the facility. This role requires a strong presence on the floor. We are looking for a motivated individual who can go out and investigate issues, talk directly with the people running the machines, and gather the data needed to make their projects successful.

What You Will Do
  • Lead and manage capital projects from justification and capital requests to final execution.
  • Handle a diverse project scope ranging from small safety improvements to large machine rebuilds and new equipment installations.
  • Step up to manage large breakdown repairs when they occur to keep the mill running safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within the confirmed Capex financial plan.
  • Provide practical mechanical engineering support to Operations Engineers to help solve reoccurring issues.
  • Act as a role model for safety while ensuring all health, fire prevention, and environmental regulations are strictly followed.
  • Meet or exceed our Hygiene Manufacturing Excellence project requirements.
  • Define standards for new projects including product specifications, validation routines, and standard operating procedures
  • Serve as the primary owner and subject matter expert for specific specialized manufacturing programs across the facility.

Who You Are
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering is preferred, but we will consider significant project management experience in its place.
  • At least seven years of engineering experience in a manufacturing setting is highly preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of direct project management experience specifically within a manufacturing environment, including managing large capital projects.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills to effectively manage projects and work with various teams.
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing or World Class Manufacturing principles is a plus.
