Our team is looking for a Manufacturing Project Engineer to join the team. Become part of a dynamic aerospace company. Ontic Engineering and Manufacturing Inc is currently looking for a Project Engineer for its operations center in Chatsworth, CA. Ontic is engaged primarily in electro-mechanical and electronic assemblies for the aerospace industry including general aviation, commercial and military applications.
Ontic has a long history in the Aerospace and Defense marketplace, producing high quality products used in both legacy and modern applications.
To be considered for a Manufacturing Project Engineer, here's what you'll need to bring with you:
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years' experience in aerospace manufacturing including product design, manufacturing, planning, testing and fabrication.
  • Knowledge of Aerospace product qualification requirements and familiarity with FAA/Military certification requirements.
  • Experience setting up new production lines and moving production lines.
  • Ability to provide technical support to customers, suppliers, and in-house technicians.
  • Effective communication and ability to write clear, concise technical reports.
  • PMP certification is a plus

As a Manufacturing project Engineer, you will be responsible for:
  • Perform technical reviews of new product.
  • Develop manufacturing planning for products, including BOM; improve/modify existing planning as needed.
  • Modify design of current products to mitigate obsolescence issues.
  • Design assembly/test tooling and shop aids, as needed.
  • Develop/modify technical manuals, issue Service Letters and Service Bulletins, as needed.
  • Assist in identifying and evaluating suppliers for new or critical processes.
  • Assist purchasing in resolving supplier's technical problems, drawing and specification interpretation.
  • Assist Customer Service and Sales in providing technical support to customers.
  • Help trouble-shoot assembly/test related problems, as required.
  • Understand and participate in Manufacturing/Production Engineering and development through concurrent (teaming) engineering process.
  • Oversee production processes (including outside processing) with Quality, as required.
  • Initiate and participate in the controlled document change process (ECR, ECN), as required.
