Wieland is hiring a Process Engineer. The Process Engineer will develop and define the support system for the production and finishing department, including troubleshooting equipment and tooling issues, researching new processes and methodologies with an ongoing commitment to detail and quality. This position requires proven excellence in manufacturing engineering and process development. This role is located in Wheeling, IL and will be fully on-site.
Base Salary Range: $75,598 - $94,867
May be eligible for a variable compensation plan bonus based upon company performance within fiscal year cycle.

Responsibilities
Process Engineer Responsibilities:
  • Support Process Engineering initiatives by assisting in continuous improvement workshops and documenting findings to enhance manufacturing efficiency.
  • Learn and develop expertise in the technical and quality aspects of the assigned area, and optimize, develop, and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs.)
  • Assisting the tooling team in monitoring tool performance and wear, and supporting initiatives to improve tool life and reduce cost.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support global manufacturing projects, ensuring alignment of technical standards and timelines.
  • Provide frontline support for troubleshooting for all manufacturing processes.
  • Promote safe and environmentally responsible plants according to applicable regulations.
  • Assist in the implementation of controls for the production process in terms of productivity/reliability/safety.
  • Advise on equipment purchases, leveraging deep technical insight to align investment with project needs and long-term goals.

Process Engineer Qualifications:
  • Required: Bachelor's degree in engineering or manufacturing.
  • Required: Ability to coach and communicate with individuals across a broad range of education, experience, and functional levels.
  • Required - Very strong ability and desire to learn and apply new concepts.
  • Preferred: 2+ years of experience in process engineering (forming manufacturing process.)
  • Preferred: Understanding of metal (mechanical properties, crystalline structure, etc.)
  • Preferred: Knowledge of automation and its application in manufacturing.
