Job description

Position Overview
International's Huntsville Powertrain Plant is seeking a Manufacturing Operations Supervisor to lead first shift operations.This role is not just about running production, it's about owning a business, developing people, and building a culture where problems are surfaced and solved the right way.
You will be responsible for a defined area of the operation with clear ownership for safety, quality, delivery, and cost, while leading a team of Team Leaders and operators. Success in this role comes from being present on the floor, coaching daily, and building capable teams-not just reacting to yesterday's results.
We are strengthening how we operate, moving toward standard work, accountability, and problem-solving at the right level. Supervisors play a key role in setting that tone every day.
Schedule - 6:30am - 5:00pm Monday through Thursday, Overtime after 45 hours
Responsibilities
  • Safety first, always - ensure risks are identified, addressed, and never ignored
  • Quality at the source - build processes that prevent defects, not just react to them
  • Delivery performance - run stable operations that meet plan without constant firefighting
  • Cost awareness - make decisions that support efficient use of labor, materials, and equipment
  • Lead and be present on the floor - drive daily performance through engagement, not from behind a desk
  • Own your area end-to-end - no gaps, no shared accountability
  • Develop Team Leaders - coach them on how to run their areas, solve problems, and lead people
  • Set and follow leader standard work - drive consistency in how the business runs each day
  • Build stability before speed - focus on standard processes, clear expectations, and repeatable results
  • Identify problems early and respond with urgency - escalate when needed, but don't pass problems on
  • Drive practical problem-solving - focus on root cause and sustainable fixes, not quick patches
  • Coordinate with support teams (Quality, Materials, Maintenance, etc.) to remove barriers to performance
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and development to build a strong and capable team

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of production/manufacturing experience

OR
  • Master's degree and at least 1 year of production/manufacturing experience

OR
  • At least 5 years of production/manufacturing experience

Additional Requirements
  • Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.
