Job Description 

Job Title: Mixer

 

Shift: 2nd (Offers .60 shift differential) 

Hours: 1:45PM-10:15PM - Must be able to work overtime including weekends 

Location: Winston Salem


Summary:

This position is primarily responsible for operating industrial sized manufacturing mixer and properly combines ingredients to make a variety of dough in a timely manner by performing the following duties personally or though subordinates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follows the GMP rules of facility and other policies, procedures and SOPs.
  • Identifies necessary ingredients and lot numbers.
  • Follows mix sheets and completely fill out all the necessary information.  
  • Examines dough and ensures there are no foreign materials introduced into mix.
  • Understands and utilizes industrial size mixers and other equipment properly.
  • Properly measures and adjusts dough to optimize the machine’s ability.
  • Cleans industrial size mixers and associated utensils; Controls allergens and ensures there is no cross contamination.
  • Reports food safety and quality problems to supervisor or appropriate personnel to ensure product is within quality standards.
  • Completes computerized and paper documentation. 
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
  • Communicates with co-workers and management in a respectful and effective manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Required - High school diploma or GED
  • Required – Read and Write in English (all Production Paperwork and Data Entry is in English)
  • Required – One-year previous experience working in food industry, primarily in a manufacturing setting
  • Preferred – one to two years of experience working with industrial size mixers and other manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operation instructions and procedures. 
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole number, common fractions, and decimals. 
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in oral or written form. 
  • Ability to utilize a computer for file search and creation and data entry purposes. 
  • Bilingual is a plus
