POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for supporting plant leadership in achieving business and financial goals by developing and maintaining robust manufacturing processes and leading the lean transformation across the organization. Additional responsibility includes executing the organization’s strategic plan consistent with federal, state, and local regulations, established industry standards, and customer requirements as well as tooling layout, design& implementation to production, support production team with process improvements & troubleshooting, work with product design on new product tooling & processes, factory layout, and continuous improvement activities (Kaizen events, use of Six Sigma tools, 5S etc.).


This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • This position is responsible for supporting plant leadership in achieving business and financial goals by developing and maintaining robust manufacturing processes and leading the lean transformation across the organization.
  • Execute the organization’s strategic plan consistent with federal, state, and local regulations, established industry standards, and customer requirements as well as tooling layout, design& implementation to production
  • Support production team with process improvements & troubleshooting, work with product design on new product tooling & processes, factory layout, and continuous improvement activities (Kaizen events, use of Six Sigma tools, 5S etc.).
  • Lead continuous improvement and lean implementation to eliminate waste, reduce process variations and deliver products to customer’s expectations. Lead/ facilitate kaizen events including the Value Stream Mapping Events, process improvements, and strategic initiatives in collaboration with the High Performance Work Teams (HPWT).
  • Identify and resolves opportunities, gathers and analyzes information, develops and implements actions plans to improve efficiency and reduce cost.
  • Develop and maintain robust, cost-efficient manufacturing processes and product structures consistent with lean manufacturing practices. Understands shop capacity planning related to equipment, processes, and manning.
  • Must be mindful of process and test capabilities and recognize organizational core competencies.
  • Determine Root Cause and Corrective Actions to resolve issues involving discrepant products or material.
  • Manage projects and conduct project reviews as needed to ensure successful and timely completion, within budget.
  • Communicates changes and progress status.
  • Implement methods and practices to reduce variation. Demonstrates ability to understand source(s) of variation and identify impact of tolerance stacks in assemblies.

ITAR REQUIREMENTS:

To conform to U.S. export control regulations, applicant should be eligible for any required authorizations from the U.S. Government.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
    Minimum of four (4) years of Engineering experience in a Manufacturing Environment.
    Minimum of four (4) years of experience in CNC[DW1] [KC2] machining environment
    Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.
  • Experience with manufacturing or process design of machined and fabricated components from raw material
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Experience with CAD and CAM software
  • This position requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (I) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or mechanical engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in a manufacturing environment implementing Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma principles.
  • Minimum of four [DW1] [KC2] (4) years of experience in CNC programming for milling and turning,
  • Minimum of one (1) year Project Management experience.
  • Certified Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, or Master Black Belt
  • Experience auditing and improving manufacturing processes
  • Experience with 5-axis CAM programming
