Project Manager

Aalo Atomics is pioneering a new era in clean energy with factory-fabricated microreactors designed to deliver affordable, scalable, and reliable nuclear power. Our mission is to make nuclear energy globally accessible, starting with the Aalo-1, a 10 MWe reactor leveraging cutting-edge safety, modularity, and efficiency. About the Role

We are seeking a Project Manager to drive project execution for our Aalo-X/Aalo Pod experimental reactor at INL. This role will be responsible for construction project management, including securing bids from general contractors, managing onsite construction activity, maintaining a comprehensive safety program, and ensuring compliance with applicable quality codes and requirements. Additionally, they will be managing schedules, aligning cross-functional teams, and ensuring deliverables are met on time. You will work closely with engineering, regulatory, manufacturing, and DOE/NRC stakeholders to keep our ambitious timelines on track.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive project execution for Aalo-X at INL, ensuring DOE authorization milestones are met.
  • Lead construction project execution for Aalo-X, with daily site visits as required.
  • Develop and maintain schedules, budgets, and risk management plans to keep projects moving forward.
  • Align cross-functional teams, including engineering, licensing, manufacturing, and external partners.
  • Manage stakeholder engagement with DOE, NRC, national labs, and commercial partners.
  • Track and report progress, proactively identifying and resolving roadblocks.
  • Ensure regulatory and technical milestones are met for both Aalo-X and Aalo-1 deployment.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of construction project management experience in nuclear, energy, industrial, or advanced civil construction.
  • Demonstrated experience working directly for an owner or serving as an owner's representative, with responsibility for managing design teams, contractors, consultants, and vendors.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex projects on aggressive timelines from preconstruction through commissioning and turnover.
  • Experience managing project scope, budget, schedule, risk, procurement, change control, and contractor performance.
  • Experience working with DOE, NRC, or other regulatory bodies is a strong plus.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams, make informed decisions, and drive accountability and urgency across teams.
  • PMP or similar certification is a plus.
