POSITION INFO:

POSITION TITLE: Manufacturing Manager
DEPARTMENT/CATEGORY: Manufacturing
JOB TYPE:  Salary Exempt Level 
Reports To: Operations Manager        
LOCATION: Stuarts Draft, Virginia
PERFORMANCE SUMMARY: The purpose of this position is to safely direct and support the manufacture of copper fittings that meet quality specifications set both internally and by the customer. The position is also responsible for providing strong leadership skills to plan, organize and execute production plans while driving continuous improvements in safety, quality, delivery and costs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure safety goals are met for the shift and assist in meeting the facility goals.
   Manage and supervise the associates assigned to shift.
   Develop work practices that will improve and reduce costs.
   Promote change through strong communication, team building and leadership.
   Assist in helping achieve continuous improvement goals of the facility. 
   Plan, schedule and coordinate department activities to fulfill sales orders, meet inventory requirements, and deliver manufactured products on time.

EXPERIENCE:

 Candidates must have a thorough knowledge of all manufacturing methods, techniques, and related equipment. Knowledge of production scheduling and shop operations and have strong leadership skills, with excellent oral & written communication. Manufacturing background preferred.

EDUCATION:

A high school diploma or GED is required. Further secondary education or trade skills experience may be favorably considered.

TRAINING AND SKILLS:

   Ability to lead others toward safely achieving company goals
   Acceptable attendance record per hiring and job transfer policies
   Ability to accurately read measurement tools (including plug and ring gages, as well as micrometers and calipers).
   Ability to understand and follow all applicable safety policies

Internal applicants must meet the following criteria:  1) If the posted position is an hourly or salary level 1, the associate must be in their current position for 18 (eighteen) months; 2) if the position is salary level 2 to salary level 5, the associate must be in their current position for 24 (twenty-four) months; and 3) if the position is a salary level 6 or above, the associate must be in their current position for 30 (thirty) months. Internal applicants are limited to advancing no more than two salary levels.
