Job description


Join MAPEI Corporation, a global leader in the manufacturing of construction chemicals and building materials, including adhesives, sealants, and specialty products used in flooring, tile, and concrete restoration. As a Manufacturing Maintenance Mechanic/Technician at MAPEI, you'll be an essential part of our commitment to operational excellence and safety. Our Maintenance Team ensures equipment reliability through routine maintenance and brings expertise in troubleshooting and resolving complex machinery issues. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vital production equipment, including industrial blenders, mixers, packaging systems (both automated and manual), robotic machinery, pumps, valves, and pressure vessels. Your skills will be key in upholding MAPEI's high manufacturing standards and supporting a seamless production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with supervisors and management to perform repairs and preventive maintenance, minimizing equipment downtime.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and control systems, including machinery, instruments, power systems, and piping.
  • Complete thorough repairs and proactively initiate work orders based on preventive maintenance (PM) or predictive maintenance (PdM) findings.
  • Maximize equipment reliability by efficiently executing work orders and PM tasks.
  • Accurately document activities, resources, and completion codes.
  • Analyze reports to recommend improvements for asset operability, reliability, and safety.
  • Request necessary repair parts as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Conduct maintenance in compliance with OSHA, Process Safety Management (PSM) guidelines, and environmental regulations.
  • Track and meet maintenance KPIs to achieve performance goals.
  • Perform diverse technical tasks, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Continuously develop skills through self-improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace, adhering to all safety and quality standards
  • Adhere to safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
  • Perform additional duties as required

Position Specific Details:
  • Base hourly payrate up to $27.00 p/hr, based on experience.
  • Additional premium shift differential: $1.00 p/hr for 2nd shift and $2.00 p/hr for 3rd shift, if applicable.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 1-2 years' maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Familiar with NEC and NFPA 70E standards
  • Skilled in installing new equipment and modifying existing installations
  • Proficient in Statistical Process Control (SPC): Control charts, standard deviation, Cpk
  • Mechanical Skills: Read pneumatic schematics, troubleshoot pneumatic systems, manage V-belts, valves, motors, drives, and electrical enclosures
  • Electrical Skills: Read electrical/control schematics, understand PLC hardware and Ladder Logic programming, electrical troubleshooting, and safety compliance
  • Computer literate with strong communication skills
