Job Description

The Kinetic Group is a world leader in the design, manufacturing, and distribution of small caliber ammunition under the iconic brands B&P, CCI, Federal Premium, Fiocchi, HEVI-Shot, Remington and Speer. We have domestic ammunition manufacturing facilities in Minnesota, Idaho, Arkansas, and Missouri, and service law enforcement, government agencies and sporting enthusiasts throughout the world. Today, The Kinetic Group is a part of the Ammo+ division of The Czechoslovak Group (CSG), which holds a diverse portfolio of companies in the defense, security, automotive, aerospace and rail industries.

The Manufacturing Engineer Technician plays a key role in supporting Manufacturing Engineers through handson process support and involvement in capital projects. This position focuses on optimizing production processes by assisting with testing and evaluation, tooling and process development, and transitioning new processes into production. The Technician will support sample builds, help analyze production issues, and troubleshooting manufacturing challenges-recommending effective solutions to ensure efficient, highquality operations.

This position reports to the Director of Mfg Engineering and is based out of our Ozark Location.

What you'll do:

  • Lead and coordinate efforts between engineering , machine shops, plant facilities, maintenance, vendors, tool inspection, tool crib and manufacturing.

  • Conduct process studies; observe and/or run equipment for trials, engineering runs, new equipment startup, control and measure selected parameters, collect data, summarize data

  • Assist in key Manufacturing Engineering assignments including; process development, tooling inspection review, new equipment set up, BOM and specification reviews and changes, capital project management.

  • Complete work orders, engineering notice requests, requisitions, shop and facilities requests.

  • Tool up and adjust machines, identify and resolve issues and provide expertise to the floor.

  • Support implementation of new processes and machine designs by assembling, debugging, modifying and/or installing equipment.

  • Product gaging.

  • Manufacturing process and equipment troubleshooting and failure analysis.

  • Support engineers in solving complex problems.

Experience you bring:

  • Skilled in machine setup, adjustment and operation.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

  • Knowledge of production processes, ability to run a variety of production machines.

  • Knowledge of gaging techniques, ability to use micrometers, calipers, production gages.

  • Good problem solving skills and analytical ability.

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Basic writing skills (for status reports).

  • Self-motivated.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

  • Personal computer skills; including Outlook and Excel.


You might have:

  • Experience in the area where the opening exists

  • Associate Degree, Vo-tech or Certification

  • 3 years ammunition production experience

  • Understanding of lean manufacturing concepts

Physical Requirements: Standing, moving about, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and handling work on, load, and adjust machines. Lifting and moving items up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis. Manual dexterity required for adjusting machines.

Mental Requirements: Strong reading comprehension skills. A basic understanding of machinist's math required. Flexibility and adaptability to set and change schedules and priorities on short notice. Reasoning and analytical skills to deal with experimental work. Ability to synthesize ideas and evaluate results.

Equipment Used: Manufacturing equipment. Machine Shop equipment - Lathe, mills, drill press, and polishing tools. Measurement and Inspection tools - caliper, micrometer, OAL gage, indicators, bore gages, etc.

Working Environment: All activities performed inside. Exposure to noise, vibration, mechanical hazards, explosive materials, dust, dirt, fumes & odors, and mists and oils when in manufacturing areas.

Work Environment:

Employee work assignments may include tasks working with and/or exposure to potentially hazardous areas, including flammables and explosives. Safety training is provided to all employees to ensure compliance with company and federal regulations.

Pay Range:

$27.07 - $37.88

The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.
