Job Summary

As a pivotal leader within our manufacturing operation, the Manufacturing Supervisor plays a critical role in orchestrating the execution of production processes while upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. Responsible for overseeing all aspects of production within their designated area, the Manufacturing Supervisor leads by example, fostering a culture of safety and excellence among frontline teams. With a keen focus on optimizing production efficiency, maintaining product quality, and driving continuous improvement initiatives, they serve as mentors and coaches to their team members, guiding them towards peak performance. Additionally, the Manufacturing Supervisor serves as a key liaison between production teams, management, and other departments, facilitating clear communication and collaboration to ensure the successful achievement of our company's strategic objectives.

Job Details/Responsibilities
  • Foster a culture of safety within the production environment including conducting safety audits and mitigating potential hazards.
  • Lead and audit 5S activities and workplace organization with your team.
  • Develop and improve visual management with your team.
  • Manage a group of hourly team leaders and team members, providing direct communication and leadership to ensure a safe operating environment.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills to achieve/exceed all safety, quality, cost and team member development objectives.
  • Provide/coordinate training and developmental opportunities, fostering respect for people.
  • Utilize strong communication skills as the primary communication link between leadership and the production team. Collaboration with other areas, departments within the Company, giving regular informal and formal updates to leadership. 
  • Daily Management of an assigned area including safety, quality, productivity, cost and team member development. 
  • Utilize problem solving skills to visualize and eliminate process bottlenecks, improve equipment/tooling, team member ergonomics.
  • Engage with your team to problem solve and resolve issues and obstacles. 
  • Utilize problem solving principles to resolve day to day concerns and be capable of understanding conceptual ideas and developing them into practical applications and solutions. 
  • Manage projects to translate strategic goals into daily activities for your team. 
  • Manage area budget, including operating supplies, raw materials, staffing - continuously looking for improvement opportunities. 
  • Lead and facilitate daily kaizen and kaizen improvement events in your functional area.
  • Manage the administration of attendance, staffing, training, performance management/reviews, and other activities as required

Quality Requirements:

  • a)    Ensure compliance with all quality systems regulatory requirements such as, but not limited to, ISO 13485, 21 CFR Part 820, MDSAP, MDD (93/42/EEC) and MDR (EU 2017/745).
  • Responsible for addressing issues within the QMS without undue delay.

EH&S requirements:

  • a)    Create a safety culture and safe working environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all Environmental Health and Safety regulatory requirements.
  • Provide recourse to meet Environmental Health and Safety goals.
  • Maintain defined organisation Environmental Health and Safety competencies.
  • Ensure related Risk Assessments are completed, accidents raised and action hazards
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA)
  • 1 year supervisory experience in manufacturing and/or supply chain
  • Bachelor's Degree or 8 years' experience in manufacturing environment 
  • Must have experience with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, SAP/ERP systems.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral. Ability to complete professional, high-quality presentations for communication with subordinates & management, etc.   
Qualifications/ Background Experiences
  • 3 years' supervisory experience in manufacturing and/or supply chain
  • Class III Medical Device Experience
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing
