Job description

We are looking for a dedicated Chinese bilingual Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join our team.

Candidate must be fluent and proficient in both Chinese (Mandarin) and English in writing and reading. This position requires regular use of both languages for client communication, document review, translation, interpretation. The candidate will work closely with experienced attorneys to provide general administrative and legal support. Prior law firm or immigration law experience is preferred but not required. Training is available for the right candidate who is willing to learn and learn quickly.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide general case-management and administrative support to attorneys, .
  • Communicate with clients regarding appointments, documentation, deadlines, and case-related matters as directed by attorneys.
  • Assist with client intake, including gathering case information
  • Translate documents and correspondence between Mandarin Chinese and English as needed.
  • Serve as an interpreter between attorneys, staff, and Mandarin-speaking clients when needed.
  • Assist attorneys with the preparation, organization, and review of immigration-related legal documents and filings.
  • Collect, organize, and maintain client documents and case information.
  • Maintain accurate and organized case files while protecting confidential client information.


Required Qualifications

  • Professional-level fluency in both Mandarin Chinese and English, with strong reading and writing proficiency in both languages.
  • Strong verbal communication skills in Mandarin Chinese and English.
  • Knowledge of office administration, or operations support.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Prior experience as an immigration legal assistant or in a similar immigration-law support role preferred.
  • Familiarity with immigration forms, USCIS procedures, and/or immigration court procedures preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases, prioritize deadlines, and work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive client information professionally.
  • A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign law degree
  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel; QuickBooks experience a plus
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
