Job description

Creative Director
Build the future of investment management with us
The infrastructure managing $300 trillion in assets was built in the 90s. Now, all of it is up for grabs. The winner of the AI era of investment management will be a $100B+ company. We intend to be that company.
To get there, we're assembling the most talent-dense startup in New York. We hire people who are 1) exceptional, 2) allergic to anything that's not exceptional, and 3) recruiters of other exceptional people. We also have no tolerance for brilliant jerks.
We run lean by design. We work with a select group of the largest financial institutions in the world, go incredibly deep with each, and sit in the flow of trillions of dollars. We hire fewer people, ask each to own the outcome, and pay on impact - not tenure or experience.
Moment is not for everyone. The standards are unreasonably high. The pace is intense. And there is no playbook.
In return: the best work of your career, building a generational company.
About Moment
Moment is the AI operating system for investment management, built for the world's largest wealth firms and fintechs. Moment works with firms managing more than $10 trillion in client assets and is backed by Index, a16z, and Lightspeed. Moment was founded by former quants from Citadel and Jane Street and is based in NYC.
The Role
As we enter a new era, we're hiring a Creative Director help define who Moment is, and how Moment shows up in the world.
We don't do traditional marketing. Our business is relationship-driven, and our growth depends on deepening trust with the leading financial institutions of the world, and on attracting elite talent. Our brand is the most powerful lever that serves both.
As Moment's Creative Director, you will architect a generational brand identity while also setting precedents for how a player in this space can show up in the world. Moment will be a generational company, and you will help cement that legacy.
You'll work closely with leadership and design to craft a brand that is as ambitious and distinctive as the company itself. This is a highly autonomous, highly collaborative role for a strategist-maker. You are equally comfortable defining systems and shipping work. You can navigate different levels of abstractions of a brand and clearly articulate, lead, and execute creative projects spanning strategy, design, motion, and physical experiences.
What you'll do
Define who we are today and how our brand evolves
  • Define Moment's brand narrative, strategy, and identity, and overtime, how it will evolve in a consistent yet refreshing way
  • Bring cohesion and craft to how we speak to two audiences: sophisticated clients and top-tier talent through branding, storytelling, and visual systems
  • Push our visual identity into refreshing and distinctive directions that set us apart in a traditional space while maintaining trust and authority
Lead creative direction and experiences
  • Own how we show up in the digital world (ie. Moment.com, microsites)
  • Lead creative direction of campaigns, events, and physical experiences
Build & scale the creative function
  • Establish clear creative processes, briefs, and workflows that drive high quality execution
  • Know when to grow the team in-house and when to partner with vendors and freelancers
You're a good fit if you have
  • 3+ years of experience in brand design, visual design, art director, creative director roles
  • Strong history of leading creative projects, building brand systems and experiences, and producing impactful campaigns across brand, digital, and/or physical experiences, from start to finish
  • Hands-on maker with an extremely high bar for quality and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of traditional design tools as well as latest technologies like Flora, Midjourney, and others
  • You're obsessed with curation and have an endless archive of inspiration from art, life, science, and technology
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, in writing and otherwise, with the ability to articulate creative vision
Even better if you have
  • Experience building brands and experiences in B2B startups
  • Experience sourcing and working with vendors and managing creative partnerships
  • Track record of building and retaining top creative talent across design, content, and production
Compensation & Benefits
  • Base salary: $150K to $250K
  • Equity: aggressive initial grant + annual performance-based bonuses
  • Our beautiful West Village Office with a terrace / 5x a week in office
  • Free lunch and dinner.
  • $150 monthly gym stipend.
  • Health, dental, and vision coverage. 100% company reimbursement.
