Job description

Company/Position Overview:

Tex-Mex is located in Hobbs, NM and provides variety of oilfield services for the purpose of workover or completion operations. Tex-Mex offers a wide range of support services including, hot oilers, dump truck haulers, sandblast and coating, frac tank haulers, vac truck haulers, kill trucks, and trash trailers.  Tex-Mex is managed by seasoned industry veterans and services blue-chip customers in the Permian Basin and New Mexico with a substantial asset base, strong safety culture and industry-leading operating procedures.  Tex-Mex has partnered with Nichols Oil Tools and American Well Services to provide a full suite of completions and workover solutions to customers throughout the Permian Basin and New Mexico.

The Dirt Transportation Driver will perform manual tasks and assist with the repair of oilfield equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Transporting gravel, caliche, topsoil, etc.
  • Verifying the types of materials being transported and ensuring that they do not exceed weight restrictions
  • Ensuring that the materials are loaded correctly onto the dump truck
  • Filling out Daily Inspection before and after every trip, which includes checking the oil, gas and water levels as well as the lights, tires etc.
  • Promptly reporting any accidents, injuries or mechanical faults to supervisor and management
  • Performing regular maintenance to ensure that the truck is in good working order
  • Maintaining accurate driver logs
  • Complying with all DOT safety rules and regulations
  • Loads and unloads materials from truck, either by hand or by using equipment
  • Assists operators with transport of loads
  • Dismantles oilfield machinery
  • Ensures that work areas are clean and safe
  • Follows safety guidelines and regulations
  • Attend monthly safety meetings
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent mechanical skills
  • Thorough knowledge of oilfield machinery and repair
  • Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior workers
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Valid Class A or Class B CDL driving license with clean record
  • Must be over 21 years or older as drivers will cross Texas state line

Education and Experience:

  • 1 year of previous related experience preferred; on-the-job training provided

Physical Requirements:

  • Physically able to perform labor
  • Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, or bending
  • Must be able to work in all outdoor elements for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds at a time
