We are seeking a Workday Integration Architect to lead the architecture, development, and ongoing optimization of Athena's Workday ecosystem and connected enterprise systems. This role blends deep integration expertise, functional understanding, and strategic leadership to deliver scalable, reliable, and high-performing solutions that support Athena's continued growth.
You will own the end-to-end integration landscape across Workday Core HCM, Recruiting (ATS), payroll, finance, employee performance and talent processes, and other key internal and external systems. You will ensure data flows are seamless, systems are well-governed, and solutions are designed to scale with the business. This includes supporting critical workflows across the employee lifecycle, from hiring and onboarding to compensation, performance evaluation, and broader people operations.
This is a hands-on role requiring strong configuration and integration experience, along with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Finance, IT, and external partners to deliver secure, efficient, and future-ready solutions. The ideal candidate can connect technical execution with business priorities, improve operational effectiveness, and help strengthen the foundation of Athena's people and business systems as we scale.
Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain end-to-end Workday integrations (EIB, Core Connectors, Studio)
  • Architect scalable integration solutions across HR, Finance, and third-party systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues, ensuring system reliability and performance
  • Serve as the primary technical expert for Workday integrations
Workday Configuration & Optimization
  • Lead hands-on configuration of Workday Core HCM and Recruiting (ATS)
  • Design and maintain Business Processes (BPs)
  • Configure security roles, notifications, and tenant settings
  • Identify system gaps and implement scalable solutions
Project Leadership
  • Lead Workday-related projects, enhancements, and releases
  • Own project timelines, testing, deployment, and documentation
  • Drive continuous improvement across HR systems and processes
Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Partner with HR, Talent Acquisition, Payroll, Finance, and IT teams
  • Translate business needs into technical solutions

  • Communicate system updates and impacts clearly

    • Defects and bug fixes
    • Enhancements and new requests
  • Validate and approve vendor-delivered solutions
  • Ensure timely resolution of system issues

  • Workday Pro certification(s)
  • Deep experience with integrations (EIB, Studio, Core Connectors)
  • Knowledge of Workday security framework and role-based access design
  • Experience in global or multi-entity environments

Core Competencies

  • Analytical and solution-oriented
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to balance governance with agility
