Job Description

This is a night shift position; 4-10 hour shifts Monday-Thursday. Work hours are typically 5:30pm - 4:00am.

Watson Bowman Acme, a Sika company, is a manufacturer and supplier of expansion joint solutions for the transportation sector, including bridge and highway fabrication, preservation, and tunnels.

This position is responsible for the operation of all fabrication equipment associated with the manufacture and assembly of metallic products supplied to the construction industry. More specifically, this position will be responsible for operating machines such as machine center helper, saw, ironworker, bender, drill press, punch, shot blaster, vulcanizing equipment, and a variety of portable hand tools. Attention to safety and quality is essential to this position, as well as the skills necessary to assemble simple expansion joints.

Salary Range: $27 - $31 an hour based on education, experience, and qualifications of the applicant.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalency required, additional course work with emphasis on machining processes and programming preferred.
  • Previous relevant experience in an industrial fabrication shop preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand shop drawings and other written instructions.
  • Ability to use hand tools and all equipment in assigned area toย form, machine, and blast in the process to join components together into sub-assemblies and assemble into finished engineer-to-order products.
  • Ability to maintain productivity, accurately check quality, and follow pre-established procedures and guidelines from start to finish.
  • Comply with all safety regulations, including Safe Work Permits, training requirements, and use of safety equipment.
  • Must be able to lift and manage material of up to 50 pounds unassisted; walk or stand for long periods of time; bend, stoop, or kneel if required; wear all required PPE.
