Job Description We are seeking a Technical Project Manager, client Live Ops to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in live broadcast, streaming media operations, and platform operations and a proven ability to manage end-to-end Live and VOD workflows, resolve real-time issues, and deliver cross-functional projects from initiation through completion. Responsibilities: Serve as a primary point of contact for vendor engagement and event-day technical support. Support, train, and enable vendor teams to execute and monitor Live and VOD events with accuracy. Monitor live broadcasts in real time and triage, escalate, and resolve technical issues. Coordinate with production and engineering teams during live events to mitigate incidents. Design and document signal path architectures, validating contribution and distribution workflows. Validate transcoding configurations, metadata integrity, failover, and QA checkpoints across ingest to egress. Apply knowledge of ingest protocols, encoding, CDN egress, ABR packaging, and playback delivery to optimize performance and inform roadmap decisions. Translate operational needs into technical specifications and define acceptance criteria and rollout considerations. Author and maintain platform documentation, runbooks, and escalation workflows. Manage projects independently, including scope, timelines, resources, risks, and stakeholder communications. Build cross-functional partnerships with Engineering, Operations, Production, and Partnerships to drive alignment. Lead vendor evaluation, integration testing, and platform readiness assessments for new broadcast initiatives. Design, develop, and maintain AI tooling to streamline Live Ops workflows. Required Skills & Qualifications: 3+ years in video content operations, broadcast operations, streaming media, or related technical roles. Working knowledge of live broadcast environments, signal path design, switching/routing, and network monitoring. Understanding of contribution and distribution standards such as SMPTE ST 2110/2022, SCTE-35, SEI/KLV metadata, and closed captioning. Experience with ingest protocols (RTMP, SRT, RIST), transcoding/encoding, ABR packaging (HLS, DASH), and CDN delivery. Demonstrated project management ability across multiple concurrent priorities from initiation to completion. Experience in fast-paced environments with competing priorities and clear escalation practices. Strong written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience working on large cross-functional teams. Preferred Skills: Experience with signal path planning tools and workflow visualization (e.g., Figma, Excalidraw, Mermaid). Hands-on experience with broadcast control systems, video routers, or IP-based media workflows. Familiarity with monitoring and observability platforms for live video. Experience developing SOPs, runbooks, and process documentation. Background in platform feature scoping, requirements gathering, or product operations. Knowledge of cloud-based media processing pipelines such as transcoding farms and origin servers. Experience at a studio, media company, streaming platform, post-production facility, or live event production environment. Familiarity with automation and scripting for operational workflows. Understanding of DRM, watermarking, or access control for live streaming. Experience with VR, immersive, or next-generation media formats. Demonstrated experience in developing AI tools. Additional Details Reports To: Technical Platform Manager, Video Platforms. Standard Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM Pacific. Occasional weekend on-call availability required, approximately 5 hours once settled into the contract. This role participates in a weekend on-call rotation as required.
