Job description

Dewberry Design-Builders Inc. is seeking a Regional Market Sector Leader to help lead and grow our designbuild water and wastewater practice across the Carolinas and MidAtlantic. This is a senior leadership opportunity for a construction professional who enjoys shaping strategy, delivering complex infrastructure projects, and brings strong relationships with civil and specialty subcontractors throughout the region. This role offers a hybrid schedule.

You’ll work closely with water market leadership and multidisciplinary teams to take projects from pursuit through construction and commissioning, while also helping grow our client relationships and backlog.

What You’ll Do
  • Direct business development efforts and pursuit strategies for water/wastewater designbuild projects
  • Manage construction planning, estimating, pricing, and execution for complex infrastructure projects
  • Oversee multidisciplinary design and construction teams through full project delivery
  • Lead subcontractor identification, vetting, partnering, and contract strategy
  • Review and manage prime contracts and subcontract agreements
  • Partner with HSE leadership to promote a strong safety culture across all projects
  • Drive collaboration across Dewberry offices and water sector teams
  • Ensure projects meet schedule, budget, quality, and client expectations
  • Supports recruiting efforts aligned with market growth strategies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil, or Environmental Engineering (preferred)
  • 15+ years of experience in water/WWTP or related field involving construction of complex MEP intensive projects
  • Experience with water/wastewater projects for municipal and industrial facilities
  • Strong knowledge of designbuild or alternative delivery methods
  • Proven leadership in safety, QA/QC, risk management, and financial performance
  • Strong business development skills
  • Strong client relationship and subcontractor network in the Carolinas and MidAtlantic
  • Excellent communication and teambuilding skills

The projected range for this position is $175,000 - $210,000 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.
