Job description

Job Summary:
Caterpillar Inc. is the world’s leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, committed to building a better, more sustainable world. They are seeking a Factory IT Manager to oversee IT infrastructure projects, engage with business partners, and lead local technology initiatives to ensure effective IT operations at the facility.
Responsibilities:
• Function as the IT Factory Site Support Manager: Plan and execute all facility IT infrastructure projects, maintain engagement with local facility management, and function as a thought leader on issue resolution or solution design for shop floor technology.
• Business Engagement Broker: Maintain a project list of needs and requirements for business partners, create proposals associated with requests, forecast demand, and follow Caterpillar IT demand management and solution request processes when Caterpillar IT is a supplier.
• Project Manager: Lead small to intermediate projects as required.
• Lead local complex infrastructure technology components that may be used by one or more applications or systems.
• Drive disaster recovery, security, IT controls, and other corporate objectives.
• Evaluate integrated testing and acceptance of infrastructure components.
• Work with IT leadership and facility management on various enterprise IT security initiatives.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Strong knowledge of network, server, storage, and core infrastructure systems.
• Experience with cloud platforms, virtualization, and infrastructure monitoring tools.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity practices, including access controls, patch management, firewalls, VPNs, and network segmentation.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and root cause analysis skills.
• Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutions for critical infrastructure.
• Experience managing PC deployment, endpoint patching, and end-of-life hardware replacement programs.
• Ability to develop and execute IT strategic plans aligned with business goals, technology roadmaps, and infrastructure lifecycle needs.
