The Management Consulting (MC) Technology Operations Manager (Tech Ops) is accountable for the reliability, operability, and ongoing performance of the MC technology landscape. This role ensures products and services are stable, supportable, cost-effective, and appropriately governed after delivery-enabling MC teams to focus on client impact. The Tech Ops Manager serves as the primary operational contact for MC, bringing structure and operational discipline by owning service reliability, product operations, vendor performance, and budget coordination. This role reports to the Director, MC Technology and Innovation and partners with MC leadership, Product Managers, and Technology Services teams.

The role.

  • Own operational accountability for MC products and services post-deployment, ensuring reliability, availability, and support readiness.

  • Lead incident, problem, and change coordination for MC in partnership with the Technology Services Help Desk; identify trends and drive root-cause remediation.

  • Maintain operational ownership across the product lifecycle (deployment through retirement), including monitoring stability, adoption, technical debt, and support burden; recommend lifecycle actions based on operational evidence.

  • Serve as the primary business-facing operational technology partner for MC, translating business needs and risks into prioritized operational actions; support structured check-ins with MC leadership.

  • Maintain visibility into run operations (application inventory, operational risks and trends, in-flight work impacting operations, vendor and budget status) and support intake/prioritization of operational work and enhancements.

  • Manage technology vendor relationships and contracts; track performance against SLAs and outcomes.

  • Coordinate the MC technology operating budget (forecasting and variance tracking) and provide clear financial and vendor reporting to MC Technology leadership.

  • Provide operational oversight for AI solutions used by MC, including supportability, risk, and governance considerations.

  • Prepare operational insights for leadership discussions and drive continuous improvement of tools, processes, and operating models.

The Qualifications.

  • Bachelor's degree in technology, business, or a related field required.

  • 15+ years of experience across technology operations, IT service management, consulting technology, and/or product operations.

  • Demonstrated success establishing operational discipline in complex, matrixed environments.

  • Experience partnering with senior business stakeholders.

  • Experience managing technology vendors, contracts, and operational budgets.

  • Familiarity with product-centric and Agile delivery models, with emphasis on post-delivery operations.

  • Professional services industry experience is strongly preferred.

This is an exempt position, so you may have to work hours that exceed the standard 40-hour work week.

The compensation range reflects the base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this position across our offices in the following regions: CO, IL, OH, and MA. Generally, experienced hires are not hired at or near the maximum salary range, as compensation decisions take into account a wide variety of factors, including but not limited to: responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. For early career roles, including campus hires, we offer standardized, market-based starting salaries among individuals within the same hiring group. This approach ensures fairness and reflects current industry benchmarks for entry-level talent.

The compensation range for this role in CO, IL, OH, and MA is: $106,000.00 - $160,000.00
