Job Summaryย 

The IT Director is responsible for managing the daily operations of the resort's ITย environment.ย This is a hands-on leadership role that combines technicalย expertiseย with operational management, serving asย a leader of internal teams and external providers to ensure the effective delivery ofย ITย services across the property.ย 

This position is accountable for all aspects of property technology planning, decision-making, implementation, governance, maintenance, support, and security, ensuring that technology resources align with business goals.ย Thisย individualย contributesย theirย advanced technologyย expertiseย and hospitality acumen to support the resort's operational, guest service, and financialย objectives.ย 

Key Duties &ย Responsibilitiesย 

  • Lead the design, implementation, and improvement of the resort's technology infrastructure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and securityย ย 

  • Execute the resort's overall IT strategy, ensuring alignment with businessย objectives,ย brand standards, and company initiativesย 

  • Manage technology projects from initiation through implementation, ensuring delivery on schedule, within the budget, and according to specificationsย 

  • Oversee the operation and maintenanceย of all property technology infrastructure, telecommunicationย systems, and business applicationsย 

  • Ensure all hardware, software, network, and telecommunication systemsย remainย fully operational to support any business needsย 

  • Manage user access administration across all systems, ensuringย appropriate authorization, duty segregation, andย timelyย provisioning, modification, and access removalย 

  • Oversee support for all systems including but not limited to: Property Management Systems (PMS); Point of Sale (POS); Financial Systems; Document Management Systems; Spa, Retail, and Recreation Systems; Telecommunication and PBX Systems; and Security Systemsย 

  • Deliver effective incident management, problem resolution, and proactive communication with stakeholdersย throughout the IT ticket processย 

  • Monitor network operations across the property, implementing proactive measures to optimize performance and minimize downtimeย 

  • Ensure scheduled backup and recovery processes are performed, tested, and documentedย 

  • Conduct regular inspects of IT infrastructure, equipment, and environments,ย maintainingย compliance with operational requirements andย security standardsย 

  • Evaluate emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices, recommending solutions that continue to enhance operational efficiencyย 

  • Enforce IT policies, standards, and controls to protect company assets, systems, confidential information, and intellectual propertyย 

  • Maintain compliance with PCI-DSS, GDPR, and all applicable legal and regulatory requirementsย 

  • Deliver technology-related training programs to improve user knowledge, adoption, and usageย 

  • Collaborate closely with the Kerzner Global IT Team on enterprise initiatives, system implementations, security requirements, and corporate standardsย 

  • Manage relationships with technology vendors, service providers, consultants, and contractorsย 

  • Maintain comprehensive inventories of hardware, software (including licenses), vendor agreements, and maintenance contractsย 

  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses of IT investments and expenses,ย identifyingย opportunities for cost savingsย 

  • Performย additionalย duties as assigned by the General Manager and other members of managementย 

Skills, Experience & Educational Requirementsย ย 

  • Degree, diploma, orย accreditationย in IT, Computer Science, or a related discipline

  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive IT leadership experienceย 

  • Professional certifications such as MCSE, CCNA, CCNP, PMP, ITIL, or equivalentย 

  • Previousย experience in a luxury hotel, resort, or hospitality environmentย 

  • Demonstrated success in managing complex IT operations, projects, vendors, and budgets in a service-oriented environmentย 

  • Strong technical background in the following areas:ย 

    • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows server and desktop operating systemsย 

    • Experience with hospitality technology platforms, including Property Management Systems (Opera), Point of Sales (POS) Systems, Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), telecommunications, and related applicationsย 

    • Understanding of network architecture, wireless infrastructure, VLANs, IPTV, VoIP, and videoconferencing platformsย 

    • Experience managing VMware environments, patch management solutions (SCCM), backup and recovery platforms, and enterprise security controlsย 

    • Knowledge of PCI-DSS, GDPR, and information security governance frameworksย 

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively engage guests, colleagues, and leadersย 

  • Proven ability to prioritize competing demands simultaneously under pressureย 

  • Must be self-motivated, capable of working independently while fostering a collaborative team cultureย 

  • Must be willing to work flexible hours to support business needs, including after-hours support for service disruptions or critical incidentsย

Physical Requirements
