JobSummary:
The Lead IT Operations Engineer owns the full lifecycle of IT incidents across JMTest Systems' technology environment. Going beyond general helpdesk support,this role drives incident resolution, root cause analysis (RCA), problemmanagement, and advanced support for our custom business applications. We arelooking for an engineering-minded professional who thinks strategically aboutsystems, scalability, security, and automation; someone who strengthens JMTS'cybersecurity posture and drives operational excellence rather than simplyresolving tickets.
KeyResponsibilities:
IncidentManagement:
• Serveas the primary escalation point for complex or recurring IT incidents acrossall JMTS locations, owning the full lifecycle from triage through post-incidentreview.
• Helpdevelop and improve incident response processes, documentation, and escalationprocedures.
• Supportsecurity incident investigations, including containment, remediation, andrecovery.
• Identifyrecurring incident trends and drive engineering solutions that improvereliability, uptime, and resiliency.
ApplicationSupport:
• ProvideTier 2/3 support for custom business applications (CalMapp 2, customer portal,Rental); coordinate with development teams on bug fixes, testing, and releasevalidation.
• Monitorapplication and system health, proactively resolving issues before they impactoperations.
• Recommendscalable system improvements and automation opportunities rather than temporaryfixes.
• Coordinatewith vendors and development partners on escalations, and support dataintegrity through database health checks and backup validation.
• Maintaindocumentation for system configurations, SOPs, and operational runbooks.
Automation& Continuous Improvement:
• Developscripts and automated workflows to streamline repetitive manual processes andreduce human error.
• Buildoperational reporting and dashboards that support IT decision-making and trendanalysis.
• Participatein change management, ensuring changes are documented, tested, andcommunicated.
• Serveas a technical resource for the IT team and stay current on emerging tools andbest practices.
Cybersecurity& Risk Management:
• Supportcybersecurity initiatives including endpoint protection, access management,vulnerability remediation, and security monitoring.
• Helpimplement and enforce cybersecurity standards, policies, and best practices.
• Partnerwith the IT Manager on risk assessments, remediation planning, andcybersecurity roadmaps.
• Monitorand escalate suspicious activity, unauthorized access attempts, and potentialthreats.
Skillsand Qualifications:
• 3+years of IT support experience with strong analytical and problem-solvingskills.
• Engineeringmindset focused on scalability, resiliency, security, and operational maturity.
• Experiencewith incident response, cybersecurity operations, vulnerability management, orsystems reliability.
• Exposureto cybersecurity frameworks, endpoint security tools, SIEM platforms, orvulnerability management (preferred).
• Experiencewith scripting, automation, monitoring tools, or systems engineering concepts(preferred).
WhatSuccess Looks Like:
• Developa working knowledge of CalMapp 2, ConnectWise, and the JMTS applicationecosystem, along with our cybersecurity tools and current risk areas.
• Contributerecommendations for operational improvements, system hardening, and incidentprevention.
• Independentlymanage complex technical investigations while partnering effectively with theIT Manager.
