Job description

Your Impact
Axon is seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Tax Technology to support and enhance technology enablement for our global tax function. This role will lead process improvement efforts, support tax-related systems and data flows, and help design scalable solutions across the broader tax technology ecosystem.
This is not a pure tax technical role or a pure IT role. The ideal candidate brings a strong mix of systems thinking, process improvement, problem-solving, and technical fluency, along with enough tax knowledge to operate effectively in a complex international environment. This person should be able to assess issues holistically, understand how systems and data interact, and help architect practical, scalable solutions that deliver value quickly.

Work Location

Hybrid Presence based near our US Hubs - Boston, San Francisco, Atlanta, Sterling, Seattle, New York City or Scottsdale. This role follows a hybrid schedule. We rely on in-person collaboration and ask that team members work onsite Tuesdays through Fridays, with the flexibility to work remotely on Mondays, unless there is an approved workplace accommodation. We believe that connection fuels innovation, and our in-office culture is designed to foster meaningful teamwork, mentorship, and shared success.

What You'll Do
Tax Technology & Process Improvement

  • Partner with the tax team to identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and technology solutions that increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Evaluate end-to-end tax processes, data flows, and system dependencies to improve scalability across both manufacturing and SaaS business models.
  • Support and enhance the tax technology stack, including D365, Salesforce, Vertex O Series, Sigma, Snowflake, and related platforms.
  • Leverage AI and emerging technologies to improve workflows, documentation, research, and team productivity.
  • Support reporting, testing, documentation, and change management related to tax technology initiatives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Tax, Finance, IT, and business stakeholders to define requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Serve as a strategic partner and internal resource for tax technology and operational issues, balancing business needs with technical capabilities.
  • Support global tax operations across a complex international environment with presence in both manufacturing and SaaS contexts.

What You Bring

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in tax technology, finance technology, business systems, or a related function.
  • Experience supporting a large multinational or complex global business.
  • Strong background in process improvement, systems support, and solution design.
  • Strong project management and cross-functional team collaboration skills
  • Experience with D365, Salesforce, Vertex O Series, Sigma, and Snowflake.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and related data or automation tools.
Familiarity with AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude, or similar tools.
  • intermediate-to-advanced SQL (not just query writing - schema awareness, joins, troubleshooting data pipeline issues), experience building or maintaining a data mart or reporting layer, and Sigma or similar tool dashboard development or administration.
  • Tax experience preferred; including direct and indirect taxes globally
  • Systems architecture and problem-solving mindset - required.
  • Alteryx experience a plus.

Benefits that Benefit You

  • Competitive salary and 401k with employer match
  • Discretionary paid time off
  • Paid parental leave for all
  • Medical, Dental, Vision plans
  • Fitness Programs
  • Emotional & Mental Wellness support
  • Learning & Development programs
  • And yes, we have snacks in our offices

Benefits listed herein may vary depending on the nature of your employment and the location where you work.
