Job description


We have a publicly traded, international corporation seeking an International Tax Manager for their growing, in house tax team. The hybrid position is essentially a remote role but is for DC Metro area residents only. Please do not apply if you are not going to be in the DC Metro area by Sept 1st.



Reporting to VP of Tax, this International Tax Manager role is responsible for day-to-day management of all US international tax operations, including compliance, provision, and planning activities.

Technical Expertise and Leadership

  • Requires strong command of US international tax law, experience with ASC 740, and the ability to manage and develop a team of international tax professionals

.Key Responsibilities in Compliance and Provision

  • Oversee preparation and review of complex US Federal international tax forms (e.g., Forms 5471, 8858, 8990, 1118), manage quarterly and year-end tax provisions, and coordinate with local and international teams

.Support for Tax Planning and Special Projects

  • Involvement in legal entity rationalization, acquisition/disposition structuring, transfer pricing, and staying current on tax law changes

.The key skills and knowledge required for the Experienced International Tax Manager role include

:Technical Expertise in US International Tax Law

  • Deep understanding of US Federal tax law as it applies to international operations, including compliance with forms such as 5471, 8858, 8990, 8991, 8992, 8993, 1118, and knowledge of GILTI, Subpart F, foreign tax credits, and Pillar Two regulations

.Tax Provision and Accounting Skill

  • Proficiency in ASC 740 tax provision processes, including quarterly and year-end reporting, US GAAP to local tax differences, deferred taxes, and tax account reconciliations

.Leadership and Team Management

  • Experience managing and developing a team of international tax professionals, coordinating across time zones, and working with local and international finance teams

.Analytical and Communication Abilities

  • Strong attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication, organizational skills, and the ability to handle complex tasks and deadlines independently or within a team

.Technology and Software Proficiency

  • Advanced skills in MS Office (especially Excel and Power Query), experience with Corptax tax software, and familiarity with other tax software tools

.Educational and Professional Credentials

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred; at least 8 years of relevant experience, including 4+ years managing international tax teams
