We are seeking a Systems Engineer to join our team at Independent Living Systems (ILS). ILS, along with its affiliated health plans known as Florida Community Care and Florida Complete Care, is committed to promoting a higher quality of life and maximizing independence for all vulnerable populations.

About the Role:

The Systems Engineer plays an essential role in ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the organization's IT infrastructure. This position is responsible for managing, maintaining, and supporting servers, networks, and other computer systems to meet the organization's operational needs. The Systems Engineer will proactively monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement upgrades or patches to enhance security and functionality. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to align IT services with business objectives and to support end-users effectively. Ultimately, this role ensures that all systems run smoothly, securely, and with minimal downtime, enabling the organization to operate at peak efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3 – 5 years experience as a Systems Administrator or similar role managing Windows server environments.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN technologies.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for automation and task optimization.
  • Relevant experience may substitute for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, Azure Administrator or CompTIA Network+.
  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and experience implementing security controls.
