Job Title: ESG & Community Engagement Specialist
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Statement about position/company:
A job at TSMC Arizona offers an opportunity to work at the most advanced semiconductor fab in the United States. TSMC Arizona's first fab will operate it's leading-edge semiconductor process technology (N4 process), starting production in the first half of 2025. The second fab will utilize its leading edge N3 and N2 process technology and be operational in 2028. The recently announced third fab will manufacture chips using 2nm or even more advanced process technology, with production starting by the end of the decade. America's leading technology companies are ready to rely on TSMC Arizona for the next generations of chips that will power the digital future.
As an ESG & Community Engagement Specialist, you lead TSMC Arizona's ESG initiatives by driving the company's five core ESG directions, managing community partnerships, and serving as the primary liaison between the Arizona site and Taiwan HQ to ensure global alignment.
Responsibilities:
  • Global Alignment & TW Collaboration
    • HQ Liaison: Align Arizona ESG initiatives with global corporate standards through close collaboration with the Taiwan ESG team.
    • Knowledge Exchange: Participate in cross-region meetings to report local progress and share global best practices.
  • ESG Strategy & Program Coordination
    • Strategy: Drive internal and external programs aligned with TSMC's 5 core ESG directions.
    • Operations: Coordinate and optimize internal workflows to support ESG initiatives, and lead the execution of the end-to-end Annual ESG Award program.
    • Engagement: Mobilize the workforce for community impact and manage logistical resources for outreach events.
  • Strategic Community Outreach & Partnership Management
    • Relationship Stewardship: Engage with and maintain positive relationships with non-profit partners in Arizona, serving as a primary point of contact.
    • Strategic Planning: Develop a comprehensive community outreach strategy. Evaluate the performance of existing partnerships and provide data-driven recommendations for future investments.
    • Grant & Budget Oversight: Monitor the Community Outreach budget, tracking grant disbursements, and supporting the successful implementation of partner proposals.
    • Impact Reporting: Maintain detailed records of project timelines and prepare comprehensive reports for both local leadership and the Taiwan ESG organization.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Public Relations & Branding: Partner with the PR team to identify and amplify "success stories" that align with TSMC Arizona's broader communication goals and community impact.
    • Finance & Compliance: Collaborate with the Finance department to manage vendor profiles and ensure rigorous financial documentation for all community grants and outreach spending.
    • HR & Talent Acquisition: Work closely with HR to align community programs with recruitment goals and workforce development initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Business, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Minimum 3 years' experience in ESG and community engagement or a related field.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • This position requires physical exertion, including lifting, bending, climbing, standing for extended periods, and working in various indoor and outdoor environments. May be required to work evenings, weekends, or on-call as needed for emergencies.
