SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Responsible for driving the execution of quality goals and objectives, driving actions to meet internal and external customer expectations for quality, working cross-functionally to identify causes of potential product/process failures and driving corrective and preventative actions internally and/or with suppliers as needed. Using sound audit techniques and statistical tools, identifying high leverage continuous improvement projects to elevate the company Quality delivery to our customers.

  • Manage all aspects of the plant quality to include: audits, inspections, quality engineering, first article reporting, non-conforming product management, supplier quality
  • Evaluate and enhance quality standards, technologies and approaches
  • Act as a strong advocate for quality in the New Product Development Process
  • Represent the company externally in conversations with key customers and partners
  • Synthesize quality performance data for presentation to executive leadership
  • Drive improvement to the department key performance metrics (COPQ, QPPM, Supplier Quality QPPM, DMR/RMA rate)
  • Act of a champion in the FMI Internal Audit programs (LPA, POR audits)
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of basic safety work processes such as JSA’s and MOC’s

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS) from four-year College or university in an Engineering or Quality discipline; or 5 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated success leading and managing Quality or manufacturing organizations in the machining, semiconductor equipment, automotive or medical device sector
  • Ability to synthesize and distill technical analyses into meaningful activities to drive continuous improvement
  • Ability to write process descriptions, assembly, and manufacturing instructions
  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Word, Project, Adobe Acrobat
  • Interface with customers and suppliers
  • Read and interpret manufacturing drawings “Blue prints”
  • Advanced Knowledge of ASME Y14.5GD&T Techniques
  • Read and interpret customer specification documents
  • Extract vital parameters from customer drawings and engineering documents
  • Working knowledge and experience applying statistical methods, tests, and techniques including Statistical Process Control (SPC)
