Project Control Analyst / Engineer โ€“ Digital Enterprise IT โ€“ Data Job Location: Arnold AFB, TN 47 Wattendorf Memorial Hwy. Tullahoma, TN 37388 (On Site Arnold AFB)
Clearance โ€“ Current and active DoD Secret clearance required. Relocation โ€“ Candidates willing to relocate within a reasonable time from offer will be considered
Compensation: 120-125k
In this role the Project Engineer will help develop and apply statistical and modern analytical methods to improve operations at Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC) air and space ground test equipment and facilities. The successful candidate will work as a member of the Digital Enterprise (DE) team to help lead the implementation of data-centered projects to improve the AEDC ground test data infrastructure, facility operations, and business systems. The person selected for this role will also work closely with multidisciplinary teams to identify opportunities for leveraging data that drives decisions. The Project Engineer will support the development of technical scope, requirements, estimates, and schedules for capital investment, and maintenance projects for the Digital Enterprise Project Management organization. This role coordinates Engineering activities (e.g. technical planning, design, installation, and checkout) with Design Engineers, System Engineers, Test Operations Engineers, Project Managers, and support projects within the Digital Enterprise portfolio. Must have a current and active DoD Secret Clearance Basic Qualifications:
โ€ข Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, computer science or other engineering discipline from an accredited college or university, plus 4+ years of progressive work experience.
โ€ข Experience in design engineering or other relevant types of engineering such as test operations, or plant operations in large industrial plants, utilities, process plants, or engineering/construction firms. โ€ข Experience with or working knowledge of computer languages (Python, JavaScript, SQL, etc.)
โ€ข Prior experience working with engineering projects and designing computer systems. โ€ข Experience with data analytics, root cause analysis, and statistical techniques and concepts
โ€ข Current and active Secret clearance or higher required
Job Duties:
โ€ข Responsible for coordination of engineering deliverables on a project or group of projects. Coordinates with the Digital Enterprise Project Managers and other team members to secure the resources needed to complete design activities.
โ€ข Communicates information that assists with effective priority determination by Digital Enterprise Branch Management. โ€ข Coordinates with the technical teams to guide and direct )-Works with Project Controls to develop work breakdown structures; Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules; and resource, cost and budget plans.
โ€ข Supports Project Control / Digital Enterprise Project Managers in performing critical path analysis and development of timelines for completion of tasks, measuring the deliverable work packages of the project against the project plan. โ€ข Communicates schedule conflicts, resource constraints, and time constraints to the project team, section supervisors, and group managers. โ€ข Assist with PM responsibilities as need in the preparation of progress reports, standardized reporting procedures and the monitoring of overall project performance. โ€ข Tracks project charging and ensures appropriate charge number assignment.
โ€ข Organizes and communicates project information (e.g., scope of work, requirements documentation, drawings, and estimates) to project team members.
โ€ข Serves as a technical liaison between the project team, contractor, and government engineering staff. โ€ข Support process improvement efforts and development and documentation of new processes.
โ€ข It is a condition of employment to wear company issued PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy when required. Preferred Qualifications:
โ€ข Technical knowledge of related engineering systems, engineering calculations, applications of engineering, and engineering application of computers.
โ€ข Masterโ€™s or PhD degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or another relevant engineering field from an accredited university program. โ€ข Demonstrated experience in a data analytics role applied to technical data in probability analyses and statistical analytics to gain insights using large data sources. โ€ข Knowledge of data mining, analysis and collection techniques applied to operations and analysis.
โ€ข Experience working with and creating data architectures.
โ€ข Experience performing root cause analysis.
โ€ข Knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques and their real-world advantages/drawbacks.
โ€ข Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests and proper usage, etc.) and experience with applications.
โ€ข Good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, including the preparation of technical reports. โ€ข Current or able to obtain IT Security +
