Job description

Position Overview

Never sold a car in your life? Good. We are not looking for a resume full of dealership jobs. We are looking for people who can connect with our customers in the language they are most comfortable speaking. If you can do that, we will teach you everything else - through three and a half weeks of hands-on training, fully paid, before you ever work a deal on your own.

Buying a car is one of the biggest decisions a family makes, and it should not be harder because of the language you speak at home. Our customers come from every corner of the Twin Cities, and we want every one of them to be able to ask questions, understand the numbers, and sign the paperwork in the language they think in. That is the job. Your language is not a bonus skill here - it is the qualification.

Compensation and Schedule

  • Base pay plus uncapped commission - your effort sets the ceiling, not a pay grade
  • Average earnings of $75,000-$120,000 per year; top performers exceed $150,000
  • You earn while you learn - training is fully paid from day one
  • Four-day workweek - full-time pay and benefits, three days off

Responsibilities

  • Greet every customer promptly and courteously, and serve bilingual customers in their preferred language
  • Guide customers through the full sales process, start to finish
  • Take customers on test drives and walk them through how the vehicle works
  • Explain financing and protection options clearly, so nothing is a surprise at signing
  • Track every customer interaction in the Walser CRM
  • Follow up after the sale - the relationship does not end at the keys
  • Meet the unit average, PVR, and VSC expectations set by your store
  • Uphold Walser's Core Values: Do The Right Thing, Lead By Example, Display Positive Energy, Be Open Minded
  • All other duties, tasks, and projects as assigned

Qualifications

No dealership experience. No degree. No sales background. If you have worked retail, restaurants, warehouse, healthcare, rideshare, or nothing at all yet, you can do this job. Many of our strongest consultants started with none of it.

  • Conversational fluency in Hmong, Spanish, or Somali, along with English, so you can guide a customer through a purchase in either language
  • At least 18 years of age
  • A valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record
  • Genuine listening skills - the ability to hear what someone actually needs
  • Comfort with a phone, a computer, and learning new software (we will train you on our systems)
  • A friendly, positive attitude and a team-first mindset
  • Willingness to complete and pass our paid sales training program
  • Professional demeanor and appearance

Benefits

  • Paid Training: three and a half weeks of in-depth, hands-on training, fully paid, to build real confidence before you are on your own
  • Four-Day Work Weeks: longer weekends without giving up full-time benefits
  • Paid Time Off: time to rest, travel, or be with family
  • Career Growth: we promote from within, with clear paths and mentorship
  • Comprehensive Health Benefits: medical, dental, and vision through Blue Cross Blue Shield, plus HSA and FSA options
  • Life Insurance and 401(k) with Employer Match
  • Fertility and Adoption Assistance: up to $10,000 in support
  • Paid Clothing Program: twice a year, choose from curated Walser apparel, on us
  • Employee Discounts across products and services
  • Employee Resource Groups: Women of Walser, Drive with Pride, Asian Hmong Alliance, and Veterans at Walser
  • Community Involvement: volunteer through the Walser Foundation
  • Employee Assistance Program for personal and professional support
  • Referral Program: earn bonuses for bringing in great people

Working Conditions

  • Safety eyewear is required at all times in dealership service departments
  • Hard-toed, slip-resistant footwear is required in dealership service departments
